Can you be a public bus driver after a DD?

Just a question that somebody might be able to answer.

I know somebody who is a persistent drink driver. They have only been banned once following a very major accident. Although have got of other arrests through luck and technicalities.

He is claiming today he is back driving public buses less than 6 months after his ban ended.

Could this be true?

Is he stupid enough to DD while driving buses, or only when on his own?

That being said, I'd be surprised if any bus company would employ him if they knew the history!

Its highly unlikely he would get a driving job after a DD.

In fact I know he wouldnt, certainly not after 6 months, its the first question on most applications now, we will not accept applicants with prior DD convictions.

I'd be very surprised if he still holds his PCV after a DD, it will automatically remove an HGV entitlement for example, I assume PSV is the same.

You Can get your professional licence reinstated after a ban but no company would employ you as a driver because their insurance wont cover them.

Minimum ban is 12 mths.

How long was his ban ??

I doubt very much that he would have been employed to drive members of the public via a PCV licence. Total fabircation on his part.

If he has been employed, then he has lied about his past, i would suggest that you contact his employer, before he potentially puts others at risk again.

Any responsible company will of done a driver back ground check before he starts so unless he is using false details he can't of blagged it.
