best way to fix ripped leather

my gf has a leather iPad case but shes dropped it and its managed to cut the case

ive had a quick google and found leather glue but think that I would have to overlap the leather

does anyone have a better method or recommend which glue to use?
 
Fabric glue will stick leather, but as you say its too small to overlap, I guess that won't work.
Depending on what its like, the best option may be to stitch it back together.

Oh and if its only two weeks old, can't you take it back and say its unfair wear and tear?

im not too sure tbh i will have to wait till she gets back from holiday to assess it but erm thanks for the reply

so far i have thought to possibly use a smaller piece of leather on the inside to hold it back to together with the glue

but i will ring up to see what the store say as well they may do it as a good will gesture shame i have to drive back to manchester :(
 
I agree about taking it back, it clearly hasn't last a reasonable amount of time for the price you have paid.

Also, as said, get a case for the case, £300 is mental.
 
Lol at taking back for a refund! Surely it'll be totally obvious it has been damaged by the owner being careless.

Do take it back, though - but to ask if they have a repair service (which they will). Do this before you mess it up even more by attempting to bodge it yourself.
 
£300 is a lot of dough for just a protective case, it's designed to protect the device, not glitz it up to the point of 'plastic catwalk model' status.
 
I'm not really understanding this whole putting him down because of the price.

Yes it's £300, but its a case by a designer brand. Many girls out there have a real love of designer handbags, shoes and such things, so its hardly a totally unheard of purchase.

I'm sure there are people on here spending more than £300 on a graphics card they don't really need.

Hah, £300 :D

Get a strip of cotton fabric, cover it with leather glue and lay it under the tear. Put something really heavy on it and leave overnight.

If you think you will be a bit hamfisted with this repair then give it to an old fashioned cobbler or seamstress.

It's a protective case though, it's there because it's going to get ripped/snagged instead of the device it's protecting.
