Nice Big Service To RX8 - Before Rolling Road + Track Day

DS2500 tend to cause judder then clears. EBC yellows just go a little soft so need more pedal pressure, again this clears.

I loved doing the coil packs, ht leads and spark plugs on my RX8. Little 6" hole behind the passenger wheel so you could either see what you were meant to be doing or trying to do by touch.

If you can get access to a lift or a pit, it makes the job so much easier than on a driveway.

If you can't find anything that says the packs have been done, and the car has done over 30k, change them. Mine was on 58k when they started to break down, changed them for the same parts you're going to be using and there was a hell of a difference.

Ah yes, mine got the judder on track. It cleared after a while and had gone completely once back on public roads.

You need to factor in alignment costs after fitting the coilovers. A decent geo setup with new pads and decent fluid like motul rbf 600 will help on the track significantly

If you're changing flexible hoses I would suggest flushing through all the old brake fluid, not sure 1ltr will be enough there.

Exactly my thinking, this is the thing, car is about to go over 55k miles, so rather than wait and it causes additional problems etc I'll just change them now and I know they'll be good for another 30-40k... job done.

As for the setup for the coilovers, was going to ask this. Where would this kind of thing be done? I'm assuming that this is more than your average garage would be able to cope with?

Will check to see what are the equivalent Foroda 2500's then... see what's up there and just replace all four corners. Discs only have 3k miles on them and are like new so, may as well. If I have to stick with say EBC, which would be the best compromise, green, red or yellow? Bear in mind, 2-3 track days per year ish?!?! Maybe more...

Yeah, will be flushing all the old brake fluid out and yeah agreed by the time I've bled them, 1ltr ain't gonna be enough. Not a problem.

Decent coilovers that aren't like driving on solid suspension that makes diamonds feel like pliable material cost 4 figures.

Get the base car aligned properly, go and do a track day, work out what you want to improve, do loads of tuition, check again what you want to improve, and then do more training.

I guarantee you, unless you race competitively right now, and win week after week, tuition will make you probably close to 10's of seconds quicker. And it's a _lot_ cheaper than the coilovers.

If you want them just for looks, get something like Bilstein PSS 9's so you have a decent ride quality.

Hello buddy... hows the good ship Minerva??

I think you need to take my 8 out soon - i want to see how your mods compare to mine!

Brake pads done with fluids and hoses... christ almighty, what an improvement that is, incredible infact... so, money well spent. All the rest will be done tomorrow, and coilovers done Friday me thinks as one of my dampers is leaking, both rear springs are shot so, rather than replace with standard, coilovers it is.

New de-cat and rear exhaust box, all stainless steel, plugs, coils and leads all done, new coolent, oil blah blah blah... remap on the way I feel.
