Doh! Parking fine for three minute wait!

Just got a letter from Southwark Council for a £65 fine for "parking on a double yellow" for...... 3 minutes!

It was a dead end and I was turning round before checking the map for directions.

Unlucky or what? Can't contest it can I?

You can write a letter, just be polite and explain clearly. They may let you off.

Did they send you a photo?

Were you sat in your car?

I'd certainly appeal if answering yes to the above.

Wasn't a double red? Sounds pretty harsh.

They sent a photo with the letter, from CCTV. I can request more images.

I sat in the car the whole time, never got out.

Just turned round, left the engine running while I checked the map.

It was on a Sunday too.
