They look really cool. Do you buy them as they are or assemble from kits?
You can buy combos, but it's like PC system building. You buy the kit, then decide what servos, motor/IC engine (depending on whether it's an IC or electric kit), gyro/flybarless controller you want etc.
There's about £4k in those photos, so they're expensive kits lol
Yup that's the header tank. Keeps a smooth bubbleless flow to the carburettor as when you're upside down etc, the clunk would inevitably pick up air as well as fuel which would lean out the mixture which is very bad lol.
And as you say, it adds about 45s to the flight as you can safely drain the main tank dry without totally running empty, which too is very bad for obvious reasons!

Depends on weight, battery size etc, but on my nitros I get about 9mins to a tank, and the electric about 6:30. The batteries can be very dangerous if discharged too far you've got to be **** hot on the timers.

Just a cheap electric one £50 but does about 15 minutes so its not that bad . i wouldnt risk more as sometimes mavity wins

These things are really quite awesome, I always wanted one as a kid, how long did it take you to pickup the skills to fly them?
I flew planks a bit when I was younger which teaches you what the sticks do, but helis are a lot harder to fly. I've been flying helis that size for about 3 years now and I'm doing basic 3D etc now. I'll never be 1/10th as good as in that video though.

What the hell, didn't even realise it was possible to fly these in such a way, incredible to watch!
That's the thing. Don't think this the wrong way, but most people think it's just lift off and pootle about doing a few turns. It's really waaay more than that. The brain training you need to keep the up with the orientation is insane. Even right way up, nose facing, all the controls are backwards so imagine what it's like doing those manoeuvres
