Do you work for an 'evil' company?

I don't work in oil and gas, but I have heard it from the horses mouth the industry is as evil as it is rumoured to be.

Well you have it on good authority then.

All companies working in the industry are controlled by a huge talking Horses Head (pbuh). It's our god who tells us what to do, where to drill and how to make as much money as we can, whilst ensuring as many living creatures come to harm as possible.

I never thought someone outside the industry would ever get to hear something from our beloved Horses Head (pbuh).

You evil *******!! :D

e: is that the same horse that is the CEO of Findus?

Whole people have gone missing at my place, Not a leg or an arm a whole person, Happened more than once as well. Currently I've set up a reflective corridor of angled mirrors to catch when they turn into Lizards.

How do we define an 'evil company'? All companies are out to make money from you and me, so does that make them all evil??

I work in oil and gas. The company is renowned for dodging tax. Has an arms manufacturing division. Was founded based upon the stealing of someone else's invention.

You tell me if they sound evil!

But working there, do you actually think they are evil? :p

I'd probably say yes. The way they treat staff is often highly immoral. Expecting us as engineers to work overtime for free for 'business needs' and then posting massive profits. Us getting scrutinised over every expense we file and then seeing our directors go on golfing, football and shooting trips paid for by the company.

A particular favourite of mine was seeing three of my colleagues invited on a clay pigeon shoot by a client as a thank you for putting lots of work in to meet a shortened deadline. Our commercial director decided that actually they didn't have the time to go but he did and so did a couple of other execs. I would have thought they were the busy ones!

Place i work could most definitely be considered evil

-Was up to its neck in one of the first multi billion accounting scandals in the US, back in the early 00s which lead to new legislation to try and prevent a repeat, the company involved went bust and the company I work for changed their name to distance themselves from their actions
-Global company, they are literally everywhere and should be renamed Umbrella corporation
-They have fingers in everything!
-Major player in outsourcing
-Was previously incorporated in the bahamas but during my time there they moved incorporation to ireland for tax avoidance maximisation purposes
-Suspiciously kept their name out of the recent media coverage of tax avoiding corporations, im sure their deals with the BBC, ITV and BskyB had nothing to do with it

we're not evil (much) but i write software for bankers/traders. So my code is probably partly responsible for screwing the planet up :) i sleep well at night.

Energy and Mining...so probably seen as evil by some. We don't actually do any of the nasty digging stuff ourselves. We just advise those who do.

But then, we have various government environmental agencies as clients as well so probably balances out.
