tim - is he really that bad?

i was thinking of getting SIF Cazorla and SIF Fellani has CMs.

EDIT: and what work rates are best for the 3 CMs in a 4321 which i want to try out.

In my team I have Luiz Gustavo as my middle CM, who has M/H workrates. On either side of him are Lucas and Muller, the first having M/M, the second having H/H. Seems to work quite well for me. :)

Edit: I will add that in my Serie A 4-3-1-2 team I seem to get swamped less in midfield though, where I have De Rossi (M/H) in the middle, Marchisio (H/H) on the left, and Pirlo (L/M) on the right. That could easily be because I have Sneijder in the CF position though, and he tends to float between midfield and attack, making it seem like I have an extra body there at times.

I have tried using Fellaini but I just found his to be playing matrix football

I find Fellaini incredible. So strong! Just walk him into an opponent with the ball and he will come out with the ball and the other lad will be on the ground and unable to chase back! :D

And that's just the NIF...

edit: I play him at CDM in 41212. Not as great at CM, not very fast or good at shooting for me.

Beast at corners as well.

He got a hat trick in a game for me once, all from corners. I felt sorry for the guy I was playing because he was dominating me (team had the lurgies) so I sent him a message saying "unlucky, you didn't deserve that" and I got a barrage of abuse back like it was my fault :D.

So I currently play 4-2-3-1, a formation I have played for a long time because I like having defensive midfielders, a couple of wide players (who I'd usually have pushed right up), and a forward behind the striker. I am however at a bit of a dead-end with this formation in FUT as the CAM's aren't high enough, and therefore I'm struggling to break down the opposition defenders. Can anyone recommend a formation to build a new team with, one that still gives me a bit of width. I was thinking 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2.
Also, is there much difference between 4-3-3 and 4-3-1-2?

4222 is pretty much the same without the CF holding the ground between the midfield and defence. I didn't find it anywhere near as effective. 4312 is really narrow but if you get it in and around the CF you'll often outnumber the defence which is useful. I don't like 433 but it does give you lots of width.

If your CAMs are too far back in 4231, what players are you using? If you're using players with high or med defensive work rate then they will track back pretty far. High/Low is ideal although this can leave your full backs in a 2v1 situation which is never great.

You can also start building with your CAMs if they're far back and use L1+X to drag them forward.

Anyone find the Silver cup really tough? Breezed through the first bronze one but can't even get to the final of the Silver one.

I kinda love and hate this game. The injuries are really annoying - don't get me wrong i understand the need for fatigue etc but it gets silly sometimes. A player should just slow down or play worse, not pull up at a vital moment in the game, which hardly ever happens in real life but about 4 times per game in FIFA.

I'll forget about 4-2-2-2 then. So, looking at 4-1-2-1-2, with a defensive midfielder, some width with LM and RM, and a CAM behind the strikers, that looks quite good.

I have Cazorla and Isco as CAM's.

Diamond is good but quite expensive. You'll be wanting to buy players in formation as it costs 6-7k to convert.

I usually use a L/H or M/H CCM, 1 H/H if I can and a M/M or H/L around.

The best 3 combos I have used are:

Nasri - Yaya Toure - Tevez

Mata - Mikel - Ramires

:)

Those look good Tim.

I see it as having a defender, a playmaker and a runner for a well balanced midfield 3!
Yup, that's exactly how I feel too. In an ideal world I'd rather have the playmaker in the middle of the 3, so I don't feel I'm always playing through one side of my team, but I think if I had my ball winner anywhere other than the middle, they'd not be as effective (and the opposition would just play around them easier).

Thats why I like Tevez & Nasri so much, Tevez has high aggression decent strength good enough passing & amazing long shots, Nasri tucks in nicely, good speed, passing, good enough finishing and works in sync with Menez.

thanks for that tim.

going to go for this has i already have Aguero:
