Update Post #20

Hi all unfortunately my keyboard has completely died (Razer Arctosa) after many years of abuse :p & now im looking for a new keyboard, after hours of searching Ive found a few that I like but before spending allot of money I wanted to get the opinions of others first. (Im on a really old Keyboard just now So I want to get something ordered today. (ASAP)

First let me say the main thing thing I liked about the Razer Arctosa was its nice simple layout & its separate easy to use Media Panel.

Here are some of the Keyboards that Im leaning towards after hours of searching.

Qpad MK-85 Red LED
Pros: Simple Layout & Red LED's
Cons: some say the lights don't turn off with the PC & poor customer support

Roccat Isku FX
Pros: Media Keys
Cons: looks gimmicky & reports say that its poor quality

Corsair Vengeance K60
Pros: good brand & nice Media Keys
Cons: Keys fade quickly, easily broken by spills :P

Razer Lycosa
Pros: similar to the Arctosa
Cons: not Mehcnaincal & the Blue LED's Ruin my theme :D

Im open to other Suggestions or any thoughts on the Keyboards Ive mentioned. Please help me choose fast. Thanks All

I highly recommend that cm storm trigger if you want a mechanical keyboard and red backlighting.

Ive got the Lycosa, cross it off your list, its got plenty of short-comings and there are way better choices around.

I think LED back-lighting or illuminated keys are a must now, especially if you do most of your gaming after work in the evenings.

lol ok thanks, that's 1 less to look at :P

do you have 1 you would recommend?

A solid keyboard for me is the g110, out of stock at the moment, but it feels great, especially after long use. Only thing you might not like, is the led lights, they're RB instead of RGB.

ye i did have a look at tht, tbh lights arnt important to me on the keyboard (but If I was gonna get one with lights Id preffer Red to go with my PC, Mouse & Monitor

+1 i have it aswell, the macro keys are really nice and easy to setup but only having RB is a downside but tbh he says he's looking for red, the g110 does red only beef with the keyboard is it isnt mechanical

like i said color isn't the most important thing :P

i need something that will handle my abuse for the next few years xD

& ye allot of ppl have been telling me to go with a Mechanical board which is my only problem with the g110 (other than that it looks great)

To the OP, your keyboard is the most personal peripheral to your computer, might i ask what style of keyboard you want? I.E. Membrane based or Mechanical?

First and foremost I'd recommend the G110, a solid choice.
Membrane based, probably one of the Roccat based Keyboards, although it wont feel much different than the arctosa or lycosa.
Mechanical, the Osmium or the QuickFire Pro.

The g110 would probably take the best beating IMO.
Quickfire, good switches and feel. Though i haven't had much time with mechanical keyboards, A mechanical would be my next
choice one i get rid of my Lycosa for my other PC.

thanks again for posting, Ive been hearing allot of good things about the mechanical boards so defiantly leaning towards one of them.

Update: will be ordering a keyboard at 7pm (so if uve got any recommendations let me know) pretty sure I want to go with a Mechanical Keyboard (color/LED isn't too important) need something strong/reliable thats built to last. (and preferably with Media Keys)
