.. on average?

Kind of a no **** Sherlock article but wondered just how sleepy OcUK are.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-21572686

researchers at the University of Surrey analysed the blood of 26 people after they had had plenty of sleep, up to 10 hours each night for a week, and compared the results with samples after a week of fewer than six hours a night.

I can only dream of 10 hours sleep but I'm pretty sure I'd be more lazy and lethargic.

I usually try for a solid 8 hours but more often than not it will get closer to 7. A late one i consider to be 12.

I try to make up for it on the weekends.

I seem to be alright on 6-7 hours, with a good 10 hours per night over the weekend to catch up. As I haven't been working recently though, I've been getting 9-10 hours each night :)

I aim for no more than 7 and as long as I force myself up in the mornings I'm good for the day without feeling overly tired in the evenings. More sleep than that makes me feel tired, less makes me drink too much coffee.

Heavy weekends seem to be where most of the damage is done though. Excessive drinking seems to result in 8 hours of being out cold rather than sleeping, which is troublesome.

sleep when your dead
Zevon

I aim for 7 - 8 hours but end up normally getting 6 - 7

Generally I don't like sleep as it feels like a waste of time, but I understand the consequences.

With work around 7 hours. Weekends a bit more at like 8-9.

Back in my student days (last year ha) I used to go for like 10 hours+. Maybe go to bed around 3-4am and get up at some point in the afternoon. I miss that...
