I'm not going on history or on what's published on sites on the web, I'm going on personal experience including problems experienced on work PC's, albeit going back a few years now in the case of work PC's.Anyone who really knows their GPU history knows that nVidia are the ones who have the bad track record when it comes to drivers.

It's natural to form opinions based on ones own experiences
I get that, but it works both ways. There's plenty of people who would say the same about nVidia's drivers. There's people on both sides. Me? I can't remember the last driver issue I had that wasn't my own fault (ie, driver recovery due to overclocking) with AMD or nVidia.
I just find it odd that people have this strange opinion of AMD drivers, when the reality is that nVidia's have had the worst issues. It doesn't even matter so much, it's one of those things that has become a truth because uninformed people have repeated it so much.
You just have to learn to ignore it. That's what i do.![]()
Don't you think it's funny that the guy I responded to, comeback with a mature reasoned response, and the person I didn't quote, acts out and has a tantrum again?![]()
lol
Does it matter who's better. I like all GPU makers. Games = happiness![]()
you say that, but I was recently convinced to give AMD another try and have had nothing but problems with my laptop and spare machine, so my spare will be getting a 670 from my main machine and my laptop will be a paperweight till I can be bothered to swap that out (or AMD finally release working Enduro / Cryengine 3 drivers)
While im sorry that you are having issues, my experience so fare with my crossfired sapphire 7950 has been a blast. The issues with drivers so many are yelling and screaming about has not been plaguing me at all. Sure minor issues like idle clock not being correct in some versions but as i said minor.
I could say my experience with nvidia has been unfortunate. Their drivers has been hell at times and splendid at others. Would i say their drivers suck? no. Why?. Because they generally work for most people. The same thing goes with AMDs catalyst. On some specific systems they are gonna crap out but on most they work.
Currently playing Crysis 3 on Very High and having no issues except for a very rare stutter like once a level.
If i had to recommend a gfx i would say 7950 from the amd camp or the 670 from nvidia. Anything above doesnt seem to be worth it from a price/performance view unless your name is the almighty gregster and farts gold(yes i darn envy you *looks at gregster*)

But at least I have 3 titan's coming on Friday to help cheer me up...
It just makes me laugh when someone starts a thread favouring one brand and people all feel the need to jump in and defend the opposing brand... If someone posts up a thread favouring AMD I don't bother to post... I am also a bit miffed at having been duped in to buying 2 AMD cards myself only to discover that the "amd drivers are made of kittens and rainbows" brigade were massively misleading me

I don't think he jumped in at all Andy. I think he posted his personal experience and i think he posted it well. He didn't feel the need to slate Nvidia just because he had a bad experience with them when he knows that most do not. The same can and should be said for you, AMD and the issues you had with their drivers, which btw i bet was down to PEBKAC though im sure you will deny it.
Enjoy your titans.![]()
and yes i'm sure that a first install of drivers on a clean install of windows not working totally makes it my fault, and on 2 seperate machines and mirroring the experience of dozens of other people playing the same game, trolling much matt?
What waterblocks and fittings are you going to use on them.
