Hi, I'm up for upgrading my GTX 460 and have pretty much decided to go for a 7870.
It looks like most manufacturers do 1000MHz and 1050MHz variants. This doesn't seem like much of a speed bump to me so I figure I can overclock the 50MHz myself.
Is there any reason to pay the premium for the faster factory overclocked cards?
eg do they have improved components that give more overclocking headroom?

Thanks for the recommendation.
Looks good, haven't found many reviews for the XT so not sure how much more performance you get for the extra £20ish.
Also, will this part be widely available in the future? (may want to crossfire one day)

well worth it. You can crossfire with any other 7870 tahiti based card or a7950

I was planning on spending £155 on a 7850.
Then I figured I don't upgrade often so why not get a 7870 for £180.
Now I'm being tempted by this £200!

The game I play most? Defence Grid the Awakening, up to 160 hours now!

I would go with 7870xt rather than 660ti, to be honest there is not much to think about, it's just obvious :)
