Vehicles are ruining this game, in particular the Prowler. There are hardly any infantry fights anymore, it's just spawn inside a base with a wall Prowlers outside with their ****ing noob cannons splash damaging everything in side. So sick of the balance issues in this game, if I could get my £80 I spent on stuff I would in a heartbeat.

What did you think this game was? COD but bigger?

It's kinda in the name, there is going to be lots of vehicles and since this is a arcade type of game, they are going to be common and that's fine, because the maps are huge taking after the name Planetside 2.

The better question is why are you still spawning inside a base that is lost? An Army turns up, locks the spawn room down, capping the point but YOU keeps spawning at the same base trying to fire a little rocket at whatever tank or vehicle who kills you in seconds and repairs the damage you done ready for the next time you spawn.

Why are you not spawning at the next base and making a counter-attack?

If it wasn't a wall of Prowlers, it be a wall of Magriders or a squad of Vans, if we removed all the vehicles in this game, you still be "spawn camped" and dying soon as you spawn.

The prowler has been a HE-lightningX2 since beta, it's never been any different - you must have already known that when you handed them £80.
 
Not really found the prowler to be an issue on Miller. Still loads of infantry fights - had some on Amerish and esamir just yesterday.

Stunning game.
 
when i play this game eveytime i scope in with a sniper or use my jetpack things like tht i get a jerking motion and suggestions why this is happening when it didnt before and also i am on miller server if tht helps lol
 
Loads of infantry battles on Miller, infact im enjoying the mix of having infantry keep creeping up the frontline.... tanks laying down heavy fire and air fighting it out overhead to either prevent us (ie inf/armor) getting bombarded, or clearing a path to a base.

Its a good mix and as mentioned, if you are defending a lost base and just spawning into a line of tanks... then take a breath, look at your nearest safe spawnpoint and try to counter.. even if you are just going to flank a bit, or snipe stuff... it all helps, the little things help turn battles.

Yes, it's more like a real war - proper combined arms. There is no other game that even comes close to offering what you get in PS2. PS2 stands alone.
 
Finally upgraded my Prowler to the final level for Anchored mode, level 4.

I haven't tested it in battle yet but tested it at the Warpgate and it's awesome.

Going to spend my next certs between more Ammo, Weapon Reload and more bullets for my Vulcan Cannon.
 
Yes, Prowlers are very good now. Just have to be careful where you anchor as you are a sitting duck (for the 10 anihilator rockets that come at you).
 
I would love Higby post the stats of prowler infantry kills compared to the other tanks. I used to ride around farming infantry in my lightning thinking it was OP but prowlers take ****.

I wouldn't just limit that to the prowler though, HE in general has been silly since the start. They should alter it to the role they intended AA to fill: deterrent. HE cannons should be huge splash, tiny damage. Crowd dispersal cannons - not crowd farming cannons.

The prowler is slightly better than the Magrider, both of which being much better than the vanguard, but the prowler is getting a lot undue attention from being the best HE platform in the game, when it's the HE that is the issue.
 
Any suggestions on which weapons to unlock for each class, and which upgrades are worth the points? I'd rather get some inside information from you veterans than mindlessly spending points on what could be useless unlocks!

I'm NC by the way and very rarely play Infiltrator.

I'd recommend the GD-7F for light assault and engineer, and the NS-11A for medic, if you really want to spend on unlocks. I've also seen people do amazing things with the Piston shotgun, but I think it takes more skill than I have :)

The default guns are fine once they're certed up a bit mind you.

I find the best to be:
Engineer/Light Assault: GD-7F
Medic: GR-22
Heavy Assault: GD-22

These are all the high RPM alternatives, pretty much the only way I find you can be competitive against VS/TR weapons, flinching is about to be reduced however so you may want to reconsider from there.

If you prefer the more accurate alternatives I'd say stick with the GD-7F for the engineer and light assault, it's still a very accurate gun. I'd swap to the Reaper DMR for the medic, the GR-22 is noticeably lacking in the accuracy department at medium ranges and up and for the Heavy Assault I'd probably just stick with the stock Gauss SAW, but the EM-6 is a nice alternative to.

Yeah I agree about HE been silly. I remember getting it for the lightning for the 1st time way back in beta and thinking how ridiculous and OP it was. Thought it would get a big nerf but that never happened lol.
 
Rendering distance last night was possibly the worst i've ever seen it. Couldn't see infantry from my reaver until i was like 50 meters from the floor!! Fat lot of good that was when i started taking fire at like 150+ meters :rolleyes: I also don't like how close you have to be for night vision to be useful, could do with working a bit further away imo.
