Anything better than Razer Mako?

So ive had the Razer Mako for like 2 years now and im still very happy with it but as any other geek always looking for improvement. Its currently powered by an Asus Xonar Essence STX so sound card shouldnt be a problem.

So what im looking for is not something from the HIFI club. Im looking for so called PC Speaker sets. Ive had a look at the edifier s730 but as fare as i have been able to read, while more powerful, its not as clear. I dont think logitech have anything offer that comes even close, which would perhaps leave me with well i dont know. This is where i hope you guys come in.

Im looking for some sort of 2.0 system with a sub attached which has to be atleast as accurate as the mako. I know i can get some bookshelf speakers but i would really miss the bass i think so unless you can convince me otherwise i dont think i would be interested. Budget is atm irrelevant.

Corsair SP2500.

The clarity is very good and the bass is phenominal if you so require.

They will pee all over those Mako's.

I have a hard time believing that, considering several others testemony that i have read says they cant compare to the edifier s730 when it comes to clarity. This may of course all just be bull. Ive seen several forum threads bashing the Mako aswell when it all came down to was inproper setup on carpet or similar. Put em on a wooden table and you are in business.

Guess its research time on those Corsairs. Ty for the suggestion.

I've had my Makos for several years now and I'm still happy with them. Other than the price which could have undoubtedly been better, I still enjoy listening to them.

They're the only decent speakers I've ever had with my PC so it's hard to compare them to anything else when it comes to speakers but they're definitely quite different sounding when compared to my various Beyer headphones.

I have the sub on the floor which is carpet but the two smaller speakers are on my desk. If I want perfect sound then I'll put on my T1s but as mentioned, I'll happily listen to music on these speakers :) They're loud enough to shake parts of the house and don't start to rattle around when you do.

The price is the only thing I would have changed but like most game branded stuff like Razer, the price is always inflated. If you can live with that then you get some cool looking half decent speakers that you can just plug in to your soundcard. If you want to save cash and get the best sound possible then get yourself an amp and some bookshelf speakers or something along those lines.

You should try and put your sub on the table if it has a hard surface.. its not as boomy but my god is it joy to listen to rock and metal.

If I put it on my desk it shakes too much :P Having it on the ground on carpet might not be ideal but it's fine for me since the alternative makes the desk move lol.

Maybe you could look at some powered monitor speakers if you only want 2.0 /2.1.... Better quality for the money.
