Hey guys here's my specs:

Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
EVGA Geforce GTX 680 2GB
DirectX 11

I have been trying to run Crysis 3 on High/Very High with the lowest AA selected and I find my fps dropping from 60 to 40 quite a lot. Even on Medium settings with no AA during combat the fps in outdoor areas drops to about 30.

Surely this shouldn't be happening with my specs?

I have tried forcing V-Sync through Nvidia Control Panel + tried with and without triple buffering (just trying everything that could affect FPS) and ran D3DOverrider in the background too but no luck.

Any ideas?

From what ive read crysis 3 is quite a cpu hungry game and there are several other people struggling to run it well with high spec machines. You could try a small overclock and see if that improves it any, and if it does experiment with higher clocks.

Crysis 3 seems to be the new pinnacle of gaming at the minute in terms of having a machine capable of running it.

IF you don't have your CPU overclocked doing so will give you a big boost. Shaders and Shadows are the 2 big frame hitters so turn them down and also disable vsync and limit your fps using nvidia inspector or msi afterburner.

Hi,

the 2500K i5 do need to get overclocked to get a stable 35 fps minimum. Crysis 3 on very high settings is a very hungry game and the GPU need to get enough power by the CPU
