crysis 3 maxed out

I think sometimes, the image quality or image style as I prefer to think of it, can look different when say, coming from the low end of middle range to a high end card (I think back a good few years ago, this was more obvious).

That said, I tend to notice the most difference when changing brands. My last card was a 4870X2, and the difference in image was / is certainly noticeable in most applications between that and my 480.

i was on very high settings with msa medium x2 when i tried it with fraps just and i was getting 30 fps which didnt seem to jerk at all to me...one of my main concerns is with ps4 coming out soon..what card i would need to upgrade to for the latest 1080p gaming...is there really any need to have several gtx 680s to get the latest graphics

To consistently run modern titles with high level of eye candy at that resolution, I'd look to a 7950 or 670 (the 7950 is better value).

What cpu do you have? Is it overclocked? Also, what power supply unit is in your rig?

I'll be honest with you,I've seen benchmarks with a 7970 on the first level on max and it was about 29.80 with filters off,Yes i understand that the ropes used in the level to hold up cargo containers are cutting people's framerates in half. When the ropes are stationary, everything's fine and dandy at 60fps. If they move in the wind or are shot at, though, things can drop to under 40fps.So if your telling me that your single 560ti is running at 30 FPS i call bolderdash sorry.I my self am using 2 gtx 670's and don't get "Hundreds of Frames" I use the FTW edition's that are pre overclocked and are almost identical to a 680. But to answer you question.A 670,680,7950,7970 should be fine :)

Ok guys who bought TITANS return them and just get yourself a 560ti make sure it's the 448 version though as it clearly makes Crysis 3 run epic smooth.

I played the beta with my Asus 6850 (all settings low) and it did ok but anything higher and i think it would have gone kaput

Thing is OP i'm not trying to be rude but your 560ti can no way run max settings at 30 fps like i have already explained. But like many of us have already answered your question i'll let you know once again,7950,670 etc will do you just fine. But the 7950 has better value.
Good luck in your future purchase.

eh, some people just want to play games. did we really need so much bandwagon ****taking? lots of people (e.g console gamers) find 30fps (or even less) actually playable, and kudos to them it just means they need less money for the same enjoyment.

dude if you find your hardware plays crysis 3 acceptably to your taste, don't upgrade - simple as. you don't get image quality upgrades in new cards unless new technologies are used that require specific hardware.

his 560 is from titan version :D

if u listen people even with 9600 they can outperform my 2 680 lightning :D

excuse me but i have latest driver and all settings maxs i am getting 55 70 fps

i didnt updated signature i have 2 680 lightning

Crysis 3 uses 1.9GB VRAM at 1080p maxed out.

As such the max fps you will get on a 1.3GB card is app 20-24fps

If you get 24fps itll look smooth (ish).

If your happy with this then thats great and your right there is no need to spend that extra cash on a GPU... for you.

If it was me I would be pulling my hair out which is why the 560ti (almost a 570) is sat in my work system now wih IB and 8GB of ram... at 1080p i get as said, between 20 and 24fps... the gaming experience is awful so settings are now on medium with 2aa. 35-45fps. Much better but far from "max".

And yes I am an ex console gamer. And even worse I use a Xbox 360 controller with my PCM and play it on a plasma sceen. So I am prob not used to to much smoothness. Sorry I'm not a proper PCM gamer. Too old to change my ways

I think you'll be better off with a single card. :)

What cpu and psu do you have, and is the cpu overclocked?

Why don't you just compete the nice looking but rather average and short game on lower IQ settings, it's short and linear so won't take you long. I mean is it really worth upgrading for one game? a game you're likely to play the once, because there really is no re-playability to the short single player.
