fuming at my neighbour

Take them to the tip. Problem solved.

This tbh. Okay so it's rather annoying having to make a trip yourself to do so but is it worth sparking off what could potentially be a long period of hassle between neighbours?. Life's too short m8, don't let this sort of thing become a big issue.

How do you know who did it?
Have you got proof?
For instance have you opened up the extra bags and seen an address etc?

We used to have a neighbour from hell and she did the same thing on us so just before the bin man came I would take the bag out and put it on her lawn and after a few times she never did it again.
If she had asked nicely I could have made room in mine and elderly neighbours bins.

AND TAKING THEM TO THE TIP YOURSELF IS NOT THE ANSWER - stupid suggestion.

when i pulled up at home last nigt they have their bin outside their front window and it was about 6 bags higher than the lid and now its only 1 and every ones elses was about 2 higher.

After moaning to the council and explaining the situation they are going to arrange a collection within 24 hours but the lids must be closed. So they said go and give them their rubbish back.

You do know they'll report your for fly tipping and you'll get done.

Funny you should mention this.

I caught one of our binmen doing similar (refused to take it as the bin was open by a few inches). Squeezed it shut and asked him to take it "nah mate, you had your chance".

Took his photo and the reg. number of the bin van and called the council in front of him - told them I wanted to report fly-tipping and had photographic evidence and reg number of the perpetrator. Had someone round within a couple of hours to pick it up :p

sleep with the neighbours wife, cat, sisters, mother, donkey to let him know you mean business. Then set fire to his bags and launch them at his house from a medieval type balista.......................

Ask them for a refund for the bin collections this week as they have not fulfilled their contractual obligations for that week.

LOL, do you know how much that refund will amount to (not that you'd get it anyway)? About a £1.

I work for a local authority in this department and it always amazes me how little people realise they are paying for their bin collection services. Where I live it's around a quid a week per household.

Having said that it does seem like a pretty cruddy council, where I am we will pick up your bin if the lid is open, the only think we don't take is side-waste (unless it's recycling week in which case we take anything no matter how presented).

Councils are under massive pressure to reduce what gets sent to landfill, hence why they impose rather draconian rules when it comes to residual waste.

Our council will take extra loose bags. They aren't supposed to, but the guys on the wagons have a bit of common sense than leaving it.

If you know for sure who did it, I'd dump the bag back on their doorstep, and get the other people to do the same. I see no reason to go talking to them about it when they didn't ask you first.

our bin men don't care if its overfull they still empty it.
but they will not take any extra on the floor.

I've not long been in my new place and its funny this topic has been mentoned because I put the black and blue bins out last night and they are totally stuffed full! Each is open about an inch and I wondered how picky they might be in taking/not taking them. I guess I will find out when I get home!

I dont understand what do all you guys mean by bin lid open?

what/why does this stop them throwing the black sack into the back??

when we put our bins out in LBH Havering we just put the plastic sacks on the front of the street/entrance to the property.

Sounds like your councils are very very stupid.

how the hell do i right click on suggested spelling errors on a bloody imac ?
stupid computer

Next week hide in the bin all night, when the villain arrives to deposit his refuse punch him in the brisket!.
