Lifting on 2 posters

I just walk off and tackle the job the next day or later on after I've rage quitted...

Glad it's not just me! "OH **** THIS CRAPPY POS" *storms inside*

*comes back outside 20 minutes later with clear head*

Complicated or understandably time-consuming / fiddly jobs are fine but if something is taking longer than it should for no good reason, I don't have the largest amount of patience :D

If I had the space and time and money I'd have a garage with a lift in it, too. Looks fine in the OP's photo.

Things aren't quite so miserable when you are in a garage, up on a ramp with the heaters on, the music playing an the kettle boiling in the corner. ;)

I hate having to lift cars with normal jacks too. I have to get the car onto a block of wood so i can get the jack under the car, i have to have a block of wood between the car and the jack to avoid damaging it. rinse and repeat and it soon gets very tedious

My dad's got a 4 post ramp in his garage. Even though it currently only goes about 3ft off the floor, it's still enough for you to get underneath more comfortably. He works all day with a 2-post lift, so when he comes home and works on his own cars or family cars, he can still work in relative comfort.

When my Anglia is closer to being moveable, the ramp will be moving to the other side of the garage, and it should then be able to go full height.

The ones in the workshops here are awesome.

Completely flush to the floor with nothing around the car, then the car is simply lifted on two massive hydraulic rams from the floor. :D

The arms shuld be swung on that Lexus IMO so that its more centre to the pillars, is more how the loads go into the floor that are more of a concern.

In fact, I find the whole unit thing a bit odd unless you have a fleet of other cars you also didn't bother to mention.

The kind of person who drives an LS is not typically the kind who wants to get their hands dirty turning spanners on it, certainly not enough to justify a unit. The car could never need enough work anyway, it's about as reliable as they get.
The way I see it, a unit like this would be appealing to someone who owns an old shed which breaks all the time (that's me) and wants to work indoors but doesn't have a home with a garage. If you could afford a unit then you could afford to just pay someone to fix it for you??

Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't make sense.

Just re spotted this.

I have more than 1 car. I don't like booking my car in at places either. It's nice to call a mobile mechanic and he works in my unit.

I hope the floor investigated/assessed for the correct concrete thickness before the ramp was bolted down it it?

An easy and often seen error that can be made..

Excellent! Let's hope it doesn't all collapse with some poor chap underneath, that would be a particularly bad day in court / prison for you.

if a lift fell on you i think youd end up dead, if a car fell on you, there is no way youd be squealing to a injurylawyers4u (getting into the spirit and starting to think like a crook, i mean mechanic)

No, but his family would take you to the cleaners.
