Right,im selling my trusty gtx570 (Asus DCU II) because i got new monitor (1600p) and gtx570 just not enough at that res anymore...
So,looking at prices i decided to go with 7950,as much as would liked to go with gtx670,i cant justify prices difference, and looking at benches seems 7950 have same performance (if not more)..
I cant decide between these 2 cards:

and:

I noticed that MSI have 6+6 pin power con. and Sapphire has 8+6,is there are big difference?
Of course,i would like to save as much money as possible
Plz give me some "what to choose" headache :)
P.S.also noticed that many retailers dont have many 7950 - is that coz new 8xxx series coming? Maybe i should just wait?
Thanks

Well,as an ex'owner of the GB gtx560Ti in the past,im trying not get any Gigabyte cards anymore - i changed 4 (!!!) gtx560Ti in 5 months..dont know if i was just unlucky, but not 4 times in a row i guess
So i prefer other brands if possible :)
Also - Boost edt. cards for 7950 is same as for 7970 Ghz edt. or im missing something? Didnt have amd card for long time,so my info on them is also old i guess

For the price i would get this one.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Crysis 3 & Bioshock PC Games £239.99
Total : £251.39 (includes shipping : £9.50).

I'd go for gigabyte love the cooler. But if I had to chose out the bunch of 7950s I'd chose the gigabyte or the Msi for the rma.

I had both cards gigabyte and Msi and I preferred the gigabyte cooler being much quiter. I had to take the Msi back as it was overheating and a faulty batch was goon around. Don't know if they fixed that yet.

Received this from Overclockers today (Ordered it wednesday night) and I am absolutely delighted with it. This card replaced my EVGA GTX560Ti Superclocked and what a difference!!!!
Easy to install and set up in AMD Catalyst Control Centre and had my dual monitors working in under 10 seconds.
:)

damn you all LOL :D
ASSASS1N - can you do some benches on stock (temps included) and post it if im not asking to much?

Well for 1600p I would suggest no less than a 7970...

Mine struggles in some games lol

well,im still thinking between 7970 and 7950,but my budget is no more than 280,so....
will see on Monday after i get all funds in my hands

7950 is a good deal cheaper and will produce just as playable FPS as a 7970 so....

If it ain't playable on an over clocked 7950 it ain't playable on an overclocked 7970.

Really? Ive still got my EVGA GTX560Ti... im sooo tempted to change.. can u see the difference in nividia physx/general effects ... eg in borderlands 2?

An Nvidia only upgrade from a 560Ti as of now?

660 - about the bare minimum for Crysis 3 at decent settings.
660Ti - basically it's a gimped 670.
670 - Best true bang for buck nvidia card but they're not actually cheap.

So I guess it's 660 if you're tight. A 660Ti IF you can find one priced close to a 660 or with useful freebies.

None of which will do well under 1600p

Do you have any evidence to prove this or are you just trolling the forums soiling threads where somebody is considering a Nvidia card?

I'll start RTM'ing your posts if you continue.

Glad to see your signature was sorted out.

How will a 660 Do well on a 1600P monitor? Seriously if you are just here to put my posts down then shove off.

if you have a 2560x1600 monitor you want to play game son it that wont look poor, so a 680 or a 7950/7970 overclocked to the brink of death are required for a decent experience.

Come again?

670 is only 5% slower than a 680 so again, if it ain't playable on a 670 it won't be on a 680 either.

The problem is that you have made a wide generalisation whereas in reality a 660/660Ti can handle that resolution just fine with settings reduced or not depending on the game. It isn't the fastest set up for the money with a 192 bit bus but it does allow PhysX to be utilised. But that isn't what you said so your advice was pretty poor.
