As I am told frequently (and has been mentioned on this thread) fake meat / meat flavours taste nothing like the real thing! :D

Regardless, I doubt that the taste testers in ANY large company are vegetarian themselves, therefore them not being involved in product development wouldn't stop any animals being killed (I hope that reads right)
Using a vegetarian to try out meat flavoured products would seem a little redundant, how would they know if what they were tasting was accurate?!
 
Thing with this is though, the animals don't suffer/die for the crisps. They are flavoured using waste products from the meat processing stage. Therefore by using it is it not actually better as you are making the death of that animal more worthwhile and less of a waste?
