Clockers I come to you for a word of advice please. My current system looks like this:
MY CURRENT SETUP:
- Corsair 400R case, with 2 x 120mm intake fans at the front and 1 x 140mm exhaust fan at the top rear. (unused at this stage are 2 x 120 or 140mm exhaust top and 2 x 120 or 140mm intake side panel) It has not been necessary to add more fans there yet.
- Asus P8Z77-V Pro Mobo
- 3570K OC'd to 4.5GHz
- Noctua NH-D14 cooler (you probably know that it has 1 x 120mm and 1 x 140mm fans attached to it. I have configured it to blow horizontally in line with the 140mm exhaust fan at the back of my case, so they are all blowing in the same direction.)
- 16GB GSkill Ripjaws (these are nicely cooled by the Noctua too)
- Normal optical DVD RW drive at the front
- 1 x Intel 520 240GB SSD and 1 x 1TB WD Cavaliar Black (both these are mounted just behind the front intake fans in horizontal position)
- MSI 660ti PE GPU mounted in the top PCIe slot
- Corsair TXM semi modular PSU mounted in the bottom of the case and everything very well cable managed.
MY INTENTIONS FOR UPGRADE:
- 850W PSU
- SLI the MSI 660ti PE
WHERE I NEED ADVICE:
1) Do I add more case fans to my system? Keep in mind that I am happy with the cooling setup I have at the moment and the case is brilliant for that. I will not mind to add more though hence the question.
2) What size case fans should I look at 120mm or 140mm?
3) Where to mount these case fans (side intake or top exhaust)? Keep in mind I have 2 x spaces on the side panel for intake and 2 x spaces at the top of the case for exhaust. (Intakes on the side panel will roughly be in line with 2 GPU's, exhaust at the top will be in line with my Noctua cooler which is currently blowing out the back of the case, I do not really want too change hat config as it lines up near perfectly with the 140mm exhaust fan I have at the top rear.
Thank you in advance for looking at this. I am relatively new to the PC enthusiast thing, so I am very cautious and would rather ask the seasoned vets here.
Thanks again and hope you all have a great weekend.
