Taken Up Hairdressing.. Again

Those who remember me from days of yore may recall I used to have a TT coupe. Due to the fact I'll soon be doing a lot less mileage I decided to pickup a Mk2 TT coupe in grey/silver, but after seeing this, and test driving it, I've ended up going the "full hairdresser" and getting a roadster in bright red ;-)

It's the 2.0TFSI with the Mag Suspension - really very impressed with how it drives - completely different beast to the old one.

How would you say it drives compared to the mk1? I fitting a bigger rear anti roll bar soon to try and get a better turn in feel on mine, just feels a bit numb.

I was looking for something small and fun - I've had nothing but big cars since the last TT, and we've still got the Mondeo estate for big jobs/ferrying the dogs around, and the X1 for fitting more people in, so a 2 seater seemed like a good fit

I used to love the mk1, but it was fun in an "on rails" kind of way (like a Scooby) The ml2 seems much lighter, more agile and much more of an involving drive. Sure, it's not RWD, so there's no a**e out action, but it's good fun and the mag suspension is excellent.

I know exactly what you mean. The mk1 feels like it's glued to the road, but it wouldn't let you do anything outside the limit of grip. There are too many intrusive systems designed to stop you pushing the car, a bit sad really
