AMD reloaded promotion is pretty false

@Boomstick777 i think it is due to the fact so many people are having problems but i wouldnt class it as trolling

If by not really a problem, and a few people, and it is trolling, I agree.

He put AMD promotion is false in the title , and a line that was trying to imply you simply wouldn't get the games you were promised.... rubbish basically and the moment I read the thread I thought of all the people Nvidia pay to post such tripe on forums.

Just want to let anyone know, if you had planned on buying a graphics card, and thought the promotion of free games was a good offer with the high end Radeon GPU's, you may as well not bother.

Can't think of any reason anyone not working for Nvidia or a fanboy making trouble to post that.

From any forum talking about it it was patently clear most people had zero problems, and the few people that had a problem with one game were under investigation and had gotten the codes for other games.

It is a monumental, illogical jump from few rare instances to implying you won't get any of free games if you buy an AMD card.

Luckily we don't get to many of them here, if they exist, they are shut down pretty quickly.

But on some other forums, its just madness. The favorite one seems to be "i just replaced my AMD GPU for an Nvidia because i had a thousand problems with the drivers, now that i have it its a hundred times smoother, ten times faster"
all sorts of insane tripe, and there's often armies of them, all agreeing with each other, Steam is pretty much like that, just anyone person suggesting anything other than Nvidia, and they are immediately set upon viciously, very nasty.

If there is any such place with Nvidia have staff feeding the reading public propaganda, its Steam.

And this forum is basically the reverse of that :D

No it isn't.

There are a few oversensitive brand loyalists that keep trying to make it seem that way though..

It really is. There's people messaging prominent nVidia users on here on advice for cards because they can't be bothered with the hassle of dealing with the AMD posse who come at them all guns blazing with the "physx is naff" and price/performance arguments. While that is fine these threads usually go sour and get locked putting loads of people off even bothering in the process.

I'm all for a good debate but all that's stopping this forum from becoming the mirror image of some of the equally horrendous pro nVidia forums is the fact the moderation is mainly, fairly swift here.

I was getting it earlier today after I engaged in a thread rusty, my inbox was rattling from other users about it(who didn't want to get involved), so it's not a one way street by far, it's swings and roundabouts rusty.

There are more AMD users in here because, well, OcUK sell more AMD cards than Nvidia ones at the moment, reason being 9/10 due to current pricing/bundles which can account for favorability to team Red.

When Nvidia put out a product that the masses want/prepared to pay for, it will swing back.

There seems to be an awful lot of moaning from some about the bias, even though in part, said users recommend team red, not to mention the amount of tripe moronic posting that goes on in general at times.

I'm not in disagreement about the apparent bias to an extent, it's just an explanation.

:)

How many people have messaged Greg? One? Two? Are they truly seeing things for what they are?

With respect, I feel that you're greatly exaggerating the situation :)
While a few people do give the 'PhysX is naff' argument and do perhaps take it further than necessary when trying to put across their opinion, they're entitled to give their opinion nonetheless. Within reason of course.
The price/performance thing is more of a valid argument though and not just a matter of opinion. 'Even' Greg recognises that and recommends AMD cards all the time because of this. It's the main reason that AMD cards are recommended so often on here as I'm sure you very well know :)
I realise you've said that this kind of thing is fine and I agree that it often goes sour, but is that purely down to the so called 'AMD posse'?

What part do the 'Nvidia posse' play in matters? There's a certain victim mentality being played out here that cherry picks to suit it's own point of view IMO.

Whenever an Nvidia guy goes on about AMD drivers or whatever, anyone that dares to say different is often accused of being an AMD fanboy for example. It goes both ways.

I'm sure you know where I'm coming from, but for the benefit of those that don't or can't see it: I have no brand allegiance and also think that arguing about graphics cards is beyond childish, whichever side you're on.

It's not the recommendations I have a problem with...

Many more than that but I'm sure he'll give specifics if he's that bothered.

Of course but that's not my point. My point is the way these debates then go sour afterwards and the thread gets locked or destroyed by Huddy's clean up operation.

Price/performance is a consideration but not the be all and end all. And yes, it is mainly down to them... (looking in as a neutral observer)

I don't think it is a victim mentality at all - that's just a way to cheapen the debate. I've had 2 7950s and 2 680s so I'm more than aware of the pro's and con's of both in this generation itself.

Whenever an Nvidia guy goes on about AMD drivers or whatever, anyone that dares to say different is often accused of being an AMD fanboy for example. It goes both ways.

Well I've only ever seen that be levied against people who blatantly are ardent brand defenders (looking at humbug :p) and I read this sub forum... a lot. But it's kind of tangential to my point anyway.

I'm just looking in as a neutral observer (of which most are on the forum). :)

Rusty, you seem to have ignored the fact that there a good few green team fanboys on here that are just as guilty of contributing to threads going sour.

It's not one way traffic :) Both camps have their zealots.

There are a minority of people who bang on about Nvidia Physx being useless a little to much. Yes, but i also think sometimes people take an opinion just a little to personally.

However that is nothing compared to one or two other places where Nvidia users out number AMD users 10 to 1 because they have all been bullied out of the forum by some really sick Nvidia fanboys or Nvidia employees, because the moderators let them get away with anything. The moderators may have a bias themselves or are also on the Nvidia pay role.
Nvidia have twice the market share to AMD, and that ^^^^ IMO is a major reason why, and also why Nvidia GPU's are generally more expensive.

This place and a couple of other is very well moderated, nothing even close to what goes on in those places happens here.
