Where did it say phenom II and was this after you bought the PC or before when you checked it?
you say the gt620 was for surround sound ? have you got a sound system for that then ? i know its mainly for home cinema set-up , but in yor position id still liek some gaming headroomand that card really is pants.
the trinity system will outperform it easily
also .. what case have you got ? will it take full height cards ? or is it just low profile your after ?
For approx £40+, I would be tempted to look for a secondhand AMD HD5770 1GB card. 7.1 sound through HDMI.
hold on ....... your existing mobo already has hdmi ( just checked ) .. why havnt you got the hdmi doing the sound ( via mobo ) and your current card doing the picture ?
at your res your using.......a trinity set-up is ideal.... you can get the whole thing for £160 ish .. the onboard graphics will easily work for 720p .. and you can always add another card to crossfire if needed.
budget fm2 board i'd say lookign again.....

Check post 17 i gave a few links.
Trinity is what amd called the fm2 chipset. the top end model a10-5800 has very good onboard graphics. More than enough for movies as well and 720p gaming
Also your tv is 720p. It might be excepting a 1080p signal but its downscaling it![]()
EDIT I have just checked the spec on my tv and you are right lol, it does not support 1080p, that us really disappointing.
Jonnyp
its been liek that since hd-dvd / blu ray first came outyour tv is what's classed as "hd-ready" .. my odl 37" panasonic plasma did the same thing. its native resoltion is 720p but it can accept a source that does 1080p , but the picture quality will be downscaled , so wont be as good .
also i will add .... if you do change your tv then the importance of the graphics comes into play .. its a slightly higher resolution
Well i guess you learn somthing every day lol.
As it happens i am buying a new tv this month im looking for a 55" or 60" (got to be lg though) if i can find one at the right price. Im not sure of my budget for the tv as of yet but i do know its between 500 and 800 as it stands at the minute ( providing i can get 200+ for my old one as its only 1 year old and in like new condition with the box ect ect).
What do i need to look out for on a tv for 1080p. Also can i get one in my price range?, also what gpu will i need to power that sort of size in 1080p?
Sorry for all the questions lol. This is all new to me and im eager to learn!
Jonnyp
Note the A55 chipset is SATA II only, The A75 or 85 has SATA III.
