Who thinks there should be a test of some sort for people to pass in order to walk in central London and use public transport during busy times?

I am not grumpy old BMP guy, but seriously? Every single time when I am trying to get somewhere in central - same story, people standing and looking around on the left side of the escalator in the tube, or 10 teenagers with massive bags gathered around the exit/entrance of the tube and planning their day. Or simply 3-4 people walking in one line in front of you with the speed of dying turtle and once in a while stopping and not moving to the side.

I moved to London as well, but I wasn't like that, if I saw a person rushing and I was standing in his/her way I would move away.

Everything can be solved by a small test taken on the train/bus/plain to London - simple rules. Does this sound nice and reasonable or do I have sleep deprivation and anger issues?

the rest of the uk has lost london to immigration..

its over, we've lost the war.. they can keep it, the sky is falling down on london, the sky is turning black, look out..

i dont care for a test

I am not talking about the immigration, I am talking about tourists who come to visit for 3-5 days and make hundreds of people late lol

You want tourists to take a test on etiquette..

The laughter around the world, yes they say its over and with that i agree.

I've turned into a bit of a douche at times when it comes to this sort of thing... I'll give people a chance on the escalators but when people are blocking the train doors/corridors etc.. I'm less patient and not averse to simply pushing them along.... it really upset a french guy last week on the overground who was yapping away on his phone completely oblivious to the mass of people all trying to get on-board and move down the carriage while he stood there blocking it.

Well it is not really etiquette, but rather ability to be moble in a fast moving city - and this is what I am talking about here, giving them a small idea of what it is going to be like and how to react.

Same here, when I moved here I was all like "excuse me", but not anymore, only on the rare occasions.

Leave earlier.

I do, but sometimes it doesn't help. Especially when people decide to wake themselves up with the rail tracks shock or a train in their faces.

I was mostly talking about being late to the train that goes every 15 minutes, because someone didn't know where right or left is.

Its pointless, london will never change for the better while the population goes up.

your best bet is to continue moaning about it and continue to knock into people without saying a word to get your self into work..

I don't know why any tourist would want to go there. It has a couple of half decent museums but that's it. Most over-rated place on earth.

I think people living/working in London should have to pass a test. Knowing full well is going to be packed 7 days a week but still not leaving ample time to get to work. Pushing past people as if the next tube train is 6 hours away and not 6 mins.

We live and work here, it's our prerogative ;)

Plus we need to be able to have something to moan about at the water cooler!

haha i agree with the giant flocks of Italian/Spanish teenagers hanging about outside tube stations.

They seem very easily entertained spending the whole night standing outside on Oxford st.

Replace Italian/Spanish with chav and Oxford st/tube stations with McDonald's.

I sort of agree with you as it happens exactly as you state, but a test would be unfair as I do exactly the same when I go abroad as Im trying to work out signs in a foreign language, and I wouldn't take a test
