Didnt seem like an offside was given? regardless whether it was going to be given or not he should still have put it in the net.

Why has fergie picked him over Rooney? to track back and give Madrid's midfielders something to think about by tracking back and hassling their midfielders by playing as a defensive striker? Rooney does that better.
