Not expecting a lot of love for this but 'new car!'

Been thinking about a new car for quite some time, but relocating the office 15 miles away finally gave me the excuse I needed! Actually went to test drive an Evoque, which was the Mrs first choice, but was a bit underwhelmed - just felt like a slightly raised car. A very nice car, but quite small and just didn't do it for me.

So they had an RR Sport in too, which I didn't think I'd have a chance at passing the wife test, but surprisingly she quite liked it (or at least didn't hate it). Had it for a 24 hour test drive and just loved it. The driving position is so relaxing in heavy traffic, it's incredibly comfortable and has plenty of toys including flappy paddles(!). The engine is the 3.0 diesel, which is surprisingly grunty, and it's the Stormer special edition, so it has a few bits of autobiography kit on it. I was tempted to buy a slightly older HSE for the memory seats and cameras, but this one has 18 months manufacturers warranty, which is vital with these cars, as they dont hav the reputation of being 100% reliable (although the newer cars are faring much better)

Anyway, enough waffle and justification - here's a few pics. Form an orderly line if you're looking for a line ;) ...it even has a personalised plate for RR Sport drivers haha

What's not to like!! I'm not sure I would have bought such a new one when £20k would have bought a 2k7 unit (which hasn't changed) and just put a private plate on it as required :D

Oddly, I prefer the Disco 3 over the RRS

It had quite a big facelift in 2009, especially the interior and engines. Agree about the disco, but wasn't getting that past the mrs...give and take ;)

christ. I have to put up with short women driving these things down packed london terraced streets with no regard for other road users whilst dropping Billy, Milly and Tilly off at the local primary whilst simulataneously drinking the vital costa coffee and deciding whether shopping at Karen Millen is possible before the baby pillates class followed by a seaweed wrap and haircut which invariably costs £200 for an additional blow dry. Whilst on the phone. In stupidly big sun glassess.

Yawn.

Lush car though. Please god find a mountain though.

The interior is so nice on these. Nice car. They are popular for a reason, sure they are expensive to maintain...but they are very capable, very comfortable, and a lovely place to spend time in!*

*at the side of the road waiting for the AA. No only jokes ;)

what does that give 3mpg.

Averaged 27mpg over the 24 hours I had it at the weekend - mix of town driving and A roads. Got a 350 mile drive on thursday so will see what it does ona run. Wasn't brave enough to go for the 5L supercharged!

Who cares? I like it, its not even that big tbh and not everyone is worried about fuel bills. Plus being a derv it'll do reasonably well anyhow.

Enjoy it mate, my dad had a range rover a few yrs back and i throughly enjoyed driving it though i prefer low down cars :)
