Obviously a 'closet' Spanish football fan.

Hmmm....

Nope, he's refusing to speak and seemingly told the players not to say anything to the press too.

suppose thats wise, otherwise big bans/fine might be given out.

Just out of intrest, does anyone think anything might be done to Rio with his clapping etc in refs face at the end?

I'm quite disappointed as well that we have to have yet another discussion about a red card, rather than the football itself. :(

Well that was a disappointing end to a game that half time seemed like we had control of. I won't get into the red card decision but needless to it changed everything and our heads dropped for 10-15 mins which was all that RM needed to pounce. I'm still pretty damn proud of the effort we showed for the last 20 mins of the game though when RM let us have a bit of possession and a part of me still had hope till the final whistle.

Respect to Ronaldo for his respectful celebration, you can tell the club still means something to him which I personally appreciate. I also love the honesty that Mourinho showed and he's been in Fergies position in the past so no doubt knows his frustration. I turned to my dad and said I can't remember the last time a decision had such a negative effect on Utd (it essentially ended the game and knocked us out of the CL), I'm sure some of you here will find something Ive either forgotten about (bearing in mind Im only 24 which I still consider young :p)

Being totally honest, I don't think Utd will have necessarily won it this year even if they made it to the final, and I don't think RM will (unless they are lucky again). I think a german team will win it this year. German football seems to be going through a good spell at the moment, and looks as though it is going from strength to strength and will likely continue next year.

Nail hit head

I think when your in a competition like this, you kinda get a feel for how your going to do. At no point could I say hand on heart we rode our luck and thank **** we were through to the next round or anything like this. Nor could I say we put in a performance that got the rest of Europe thinking we wan't to avoid them either. I we got through tonight and we probably had at least one hand on the Old Trophy with ANOther.

I think the United team you could probably pick 6 maybe 7 players with a fully fit squad who would start, RM, Bayern, Barca etc your upto 8 maybe 9 players. Where we lacked composure I think was down the Right Mid, domestically and in Europe I still don't think Fergie can pick a dominant left and right mid/winger if pushed from Nani, Valencia & Young, all three have been far too inconsistent.

1-1 away in the Bernebeau was a good score but we could have killed the tie off there and then as RM were pretty poor at the back. Win away from home in the first leg and you have more than a 50/50 chance of going through. 1-1 in some ways, despite the performance can be the worst possible score line.

RM have piqued well in recent weeks but again you look at Ze Germans and they look strong.

Positives from the two games though, Rafael, Wellbeck and Cleverley, all really played well.

Nothing was done when he went nuts after getting knocked out by Bayern the other year.

As for Ferdinand, I guess the ref would have had to send him off for something to happen. They've broke their rule in the past but UEFA don't do retrospective punishments.

Man Utd fans - never seen such a bitter bunch of people honestly! If it happened to any other English club they'd be no doubt saying it was a justified and so on :p

Football fans, hypocrites :D

Oh and for the record, it wasn't a red and Utd deserved to win!

That was a little weird. I am pretty sure that after the sarcastic clap Ferdinand went back to him and shook his hand. I think it might have been to try and avoid retroactive punishment? Or maybe he just regretted it in the heat of the moment but it was pretty odd.

Some, maybe, not all. I do laugh at all the 'fans' sweeping statements people make though, as if I'd want to be kettled in with some of the abhorrent wastes of life that support my team - same for other teams/fans.
