Supplements the debate/discussion thread

I don't split it as by the wo journals I've seen, you need the full whack in one go to deliver the increase in IGF and GH.

So I will be taking 16g first thing tomorrow pre-workout and then another 16g before bed...

Used it 6 years ago and I've always been a proponent of it's use - but I just don't need it really. It is a good supp, like creatine, it has tangible research behind it.

I know it's one of the more researched ones as I remember you talking about it years ago, it just makes me chuckle when the whole of SA seems to end up on/using/doing something all at the same time :D

I'm so ahead of my time :p

Whilst I don't actively push supps, the recent interest in researching rather than just buying the marketing ******** is making this thread more pertinent again. It's nice to see people learning a little bit more about the body's mechanisms and how it reacts/copes with different supplements. :)

I like how there is a stigma around the "Bandwagon" and how it is assume everyone is only doing things because the cool kids are.

I like to see it as some members providing information, raising a topic of conversation around a supp etc and other members doing their own looking in to it and considering to give it a go based on what they have found out about it.

You cant just think up new things to look in to if you are not first informed about them, OCUK is just a conduit for new infromation for a lot of people. I think its a good thing, but only if the "bandwagoneers" are doing their own research and not just blindly buying in to it.

OCUK "Bandwagoneer" and proud :D

(own research done outside of OCUK before all major supplementation purchases ;))

Chong first brought OAKG to my attention in his very informative pre-workout breakdown. His advice was to wait until OAKG was on offer and try some. I bought some and posted here about the offer which sparked off the interest again.

I was just reading peoples experiences, did some research of myself and thought i'd give it a go and see if it becomes a staple of my monthly supplement purchases.

I mean, i'm noticing gains already, more noticeably anticipation gains (waiting for it to be delivered).

The band wagon reference is more to the fact one or two people will support and provide info on something, then a highly regarded member will try it and recommend it (normally ice or LiE), then a bunch of people start doing it a well without doing their own research, just taking posted rhetoric in a supps thread as gospel :p

It happens in all parts of OcUK one person buys something then everyone is all over it, the ones that spring to mind are the torch thread (How many people ever thought about spending all that money on a torch before they seen that thread), the shaving thread (where everyone now owns DE safety razors), the little Amazon box men in the photography section.
It's just the way we are :D

Massive assumption right there.

Thats like saying your only doing what your doing because everyone on BB.com is doing it and you have done no research, even though thats not the case.

I would be suprised if it was right, but then again i am basing others behaviour on my own. I personally wouldnt do any supp that i hadnt looked in to myself.
