Was taking a look at keyboards on OcUK to replace my old loud Microsoft keyboard.

I noticed the Cherry Black CyMotion Expert for only £20 and it has very good reviews from a lot of people. Are these the best keyboard to get in this very budget price range? Anyone here got one/had one with any opinions?

Cheers

Can't say anything of that particular model, but I use a Cherry Evolution Stream XT, which I've had for a few years now; it's been much better than the Saitek Cyborg it replaced.

its hideous the keys have a spongy feel to them like no other i have used. they feel very big and rubbery. its hard to describe, unlike any KB i have used before. a mix of high and lo profile keys.

I had one a few years back and thought it was ok, Before i got my MS X4 gaming one i got another cymotion as i was trying to skimp a few quid too. Horrible mistake, i still have it new in the box, after using it for 15 mins it felt disgusting, its my backup backup kb now :P

Have you used the cymotion before? Is it nice to type on?

Just really wondering if it's worth the extra £5 for the gaming keyboard. Hmm.

No I havent used it, I was just choosing between the two :p

There is a Zalman I've had my eyes on Here but it keeps getting delayed and if you need a KB now then shake your fist at it.

Sorry Tom. Yes the top one, albeit in black. I don't spend a great deal on keyboards. £70 or so just seems ridiculous to me; although one could argue better to spend £70 once than buy many cheaper ones. I've had a few over the years and for £25, this is easily the best. If it broke, I'd buy another. :D

Thanks, I need to find one in black. Shame OcUK only stock white. :(

EDIT - Is it really worth paying the extra for the Sidewinder X4? Is it a good keyboard for the money?

Can anyone comment on the X4? Really need a new keyboard but I'm so undecided!! I can stretch the budget to £40 if needed.

Really need to find something ASAP!

honestly can't decide and it needs to be from ocuk. I can spend £40.

please help me decide!

I was looking at that one. Looks ok, very few comments though, so it's hard to judge how good it will be. TT Challenger at least has some user reviews. I'd probably go for that over the Gigabyte one, largely because of that.

I have used the Saitek Cyborg v5 and its great for the money, nice typing feel, programmable function keys, red lighting plus volume buttons.

Only reason I stopped using it is because I use a Logitech K750 now, and will be upgrading to a mechanical next.

The cyborg software is easy to use aswell.

The aesthetics I found ok but won't be to everyones taste which is the only issue I can see.

Forgot to update the thread, ended up going to OcUK yesterday and I purchased the TT Challenger. They had the Saitek out on display I think, I tested it but the keys felt very stiff so I decided against it.

For only £25 the TT was a good choice, they keys on it feel great and it's really nice to type on. The fan it comes with is a bit of a joke though, it just isn't needed at all but thankfully you don't have to have it on.
