SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

everywhere I tried so far won't let me either and you cant even do the getting started tutorial because it needs to create a city :rolleyes:
private maps , sandbox maps etc all show on the server browser aswell even if you don't tick them........

stupid thing is it doesnt even try to claim a city the window saying you cant pops up instantly suggesting some accounts are disabled from playing the game because the servers clearly arent powerful enough to let everyone.
it would explain why some people can play for a few hours and then get booted off as well and after cant play again

they are clearly randomly disabling and enabling the game on accounts if the servers were just lagged it would try to make a city for more than 0.00001ms

I was really looking forward to this when I first heard about it, but the always online and village size is putting me off :(. I'm guessing they're not releasing a demo?

I'll probably end up buying it anyway, since I have no self control when it comes to things I want to buy :p.

Yep, every server I manage to connect to .."Unable to claim city" etc.

Other servers have a waiting time (20 minutes or so)

Waiting time for a single player game - annoying to say the least !

Not getting my hopes up for being able to play this over the weekend ...

yea the actual map is really a city but people can only claim districts of that city :P

bleh... after watching a ton of streams yesterday, i decided the game is pretty good in terms of gameplay, its a shame about the connection issues etc, but they will get ironed out after a while. So i decided to order again!

anyway I'm happy to fork out for this type of game many publishers/dev's won't risk them any more and the amount of rage just shows how badly people have been waiting for a new strategy game to come along.

I'm not to concerned its been simplified compared to previous sim city's they want the game to apeall to gamers who never played the older ones and I'm sure the next sim city game will be deeper and not derper

tried to have a quick bash last night same error "unable to create city at this time" FUUU EA with your always online crapolia. This should not be happening for Single Player game.

Just got my copy, hope I'll be able to play a bit before everyone comes home later :(

I thought the Limited Edition was pre-order only, but I just bought it from the shop without a pre-order.

I didnt miss the big point, i didnt address it, i addressed the misconception that people who dont bother looking into the problem decide to spread.

And that's why i brought it up, your making assumptions on what dave 1983 was making assumptions on.... But the one cold hard slice of evidence that EA have produced this game wrong by creating the need for an always online connection for a single player game you chose to ignore.... Just look at the **** storm of faults posted on here due to this.

I just loaded Cities XL Platinum again and I'm enjoying playing this. I had enough frustrations that first week with Diablo 3. I cancelled my Pre Order for Simcity 5 and I'll review things again when the storm dies down a bit.
 
I'm really in two minds about whether to buy this or not as not being able to play on trains/planes/in a hotel with paid wifi due to the stupid always online thing is really off putting and the only way EA will learn is if people don't buy the game. On the other hand it's pretty clear that this is going to be a huge commercial success regardless of whether I buy it or not.

Does anyone have insight into the minimum specs for gfx, current laptop has Intel 3000 and nVidia 4200m which are below the minimum specs, just how screwed am I if I try it on this?
 
SimCity Checking For Updates Fix

If you are stuck on 'Checking For Updates', EA claims you can fix the issue by deleting your SimCity user data. These details were given:

If you have a desktop shortcut you can right click the icon and select PROPERTIES then delete all files in the User Data folder.

If you launch through Origin go to C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesSimCitySimCityUserData and delete all files in the User Data folder.

Then run the game again and you should get past that screen.

Note: The recovery tool will not resolve this issue, so please use the directions above.

EU EAST 2 is working for me I just made a map called OCUK if anyone wants to join
