I'm sure this is a situation we've all been in:

You open up steam for a gaming sesh, you think to yourself "I've got so many games I haven't really played yet, maybe I'll try one of them out". So you scroll through 100 games sitting on your HDD, trying to find one that gives you a feeling of "yes, that looks cool", and while there are a few big titles that you feel you ought to want to play, nothing compells you to click that "play now" button.

You open up whatever multiplayer game it is you've been playing nightly for the last 6 months (Chivalry/BF3 in my case) and have a fun, but vaguely unenthusiastic few rounds.

I've done this before, with great success, so I'm going to appeal to you for help again.

Last time you suggested Batman AC, which turned out to be awesome once I eliminated the possibility of playing anything else, so can you pick a title from the list of dusty games in my library below, and I will play only that* until I complete it.

*I always have one MP game for breaks that I keep installed for when I only have a short blast to do

So without further ado: which game do you guys think is the "must play" of these titles, most of which I've played for a short while and just never got going with?

-Dead Space 2
-Dragon Age: Origins
-Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - Deluxe (got halfway through the campaign and stopped for some reason)
-Sleeping Dogs
-Saints Row: The Third
-Spec Ops The Line
-Thief: Deadly Shadows
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP + SoC
-Titan Quest Gold
-Aliens vs Predator

tl;dr
Whichever gets the most votes, I will play until completed. Unless it's DAO, then I'll play it as long as I can :p

Sleeping Dogs. Give it two hours, I had doubts about it but it really was good after the first little bit of hand holding was over. Then SR:3 for some light relief

Stalker, only one I feel I ever got into enough to get to the end.

Sleeping dogs and Saints are too open, I always find I get bored before the end. Having said that Saints is pretty fun!

I'd recomend Sleeping Dogs. The game has certainly surprised me and oh boy does it look awesome with all the setting on high (with the Free DLC HD Texture Pack).

The game takes about an hour to get going before the freedom starts. eg which missions you want to take

Definitely my fave game from 2012.

Agreed on Sleeping Dogs :D

It will be far easier to pickup and play but has some nice depth to it!

Spec Ops the line is also good story wise but the combat gets a bit meh after a while. It is shortish and could be finished in a few sittings :)

It's looking like Sleeping dogs with SR3 as a close contender. I have to admit SR looks fun against the seriousness of Sleeping dogs. Saying that, the brief blast I had on Sleeping dogs had potential, but perhaps it was the opening missions that bored me.

Dead space 2 is one that keeps catching my eye, but I can't remember why I stopped playing it.

Good stuff lads

I could not agree with you more OP on this feeling. I've had it for around a year now!

I can't just certify myself to concentrate on the one game without quickly leaning to play say, B.Ops 2 Multi or watch Twitch instead.

For yourself I suggest DA:Origins. It could look a little clunky to you now, but it really is a great story and there's so much content if you've got the U.Edition.

If anyone wants to help moi (sorry for butting in too), which between the following would you recommend?:

Batman A.City
F.New Vegas (Really enjoyed 3)
The Witcher 2
Deux Ex: Human Revolution + Missing Link
Total War: Shogun 2

However, BF3 is arriving today and I'm sure it'll be the go-to Multiplayer game inbetween.

I know it's not on your list...but if you haven't got/played it, i'd definitely give Darksiders a go which is on offer right now.

It's the first single player game i've actually enjoyed for years!

Go for Batman :D It felt good after A.Asylum.
FO:NV just felt like more of the same FO3 stuff but with a new, less interesting character.

I'm a huge Total War fan but I won't recommend Shogun 2 as I personally didn't like it at all.
Too similar factions, the campaign was bland (with an annoying "all turn against you" point) and the battles were too quick for me haha.
But then some say its their favourite so I guess it's love it or hate it! (much like Empire which I love :P)

I haven't played the others.

I'll chuck in another vote for Spec Ops the Line as i really enjoyed the story and was good to have moral decisions to make.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R or dragons age or even theif for me

Sleeping Dogs
Saints Row

both came free with games for me and both took longer to download and install than i played them for, but mainly because there not my cut of tea tbh

All I ever play since it came out is BF3. HTH :)
