I currently own a Dell u2711 27" (2560x1440) monitor. And im thinking of getting the Benq XL2420T 24" (1920x1080) monitor. My pc is basically a gaming machine with web surfing aswell. So i want the best gaming monitor with 3D and 120mhz. I wont be playing all my games in 3D so i want to know will the 120mhz make me not miss my 2560x1440 res monitor.
Is the picture quality very good, is it better than my Dell monitor, will i really notice a difference?

According to tft central its very good.

I know 120mhz shines in fps games. But whats it like in third person games or rts, do you notice the difference in that too?

Why not XL2411T?

For XL2420T versus XL2411T, there's less crosstalk between refreshes on the XL2411T when LightBoost is enabled (for the CRT zero motion blur effect). This manifests itself also as improved 3D Vision, with less leakage between left eye and right eye.

I'm doing the same thing but from a Hazro 27" to the Asus VG278HE 27", not so interested in the 3d side but I want to try the zero blur. Picture quality won't be as good on 27" or 24" I think, but I'm hoping that the higher refresh will make up for it.

I gave up a really nice NEC IPS to go for an Asus 3D Vision v1 monitor. I then sold it and went for a 27" Hazro, then ended up getting another 3D Monitor, the Benq XL2411T as I found nothing was perfect for what I wanted. Keeping both options is the only way you'll be 100% happy. For fps gaming, 144hz every time though.

I'm thinking the same thing. I was going to sell the Hazro, but I might keep it as a secondary screen, or perhaps even a cold-spare.

I tried the ASUS out last night, its taking a little bit of adjusting to after gaming on an IPS panel.

The bezel is ok and the stand is pretty decent. The screen its self, well, you can tell its a TN panel. Its everything the reviews say it is really. The colours are not great when compared to IPS and the whites and blacks are a bit washed-out, but I haven't done any calibration yet. There is a small amount of backlight bleed at the top and bottom, nothing too distracting, but its there. The drop in resolution is a bit disconcerting to start with, especially on the desktop next to the Hazro, the image is more grainy. But that was what I expected tbh, 1440p vs 1080p at 27"... The refresh rate makes its self known straight away though, just moving windows around on the screen and scrolling through web pages is allot smoother.

So mixed feelings up to that point. Did I waste my money? But tbh that was before I started up BF3, the primary reason that I bought it for. Gaming.
This is where it really comes into its own, playing 2D with vsync enabled at 120hz is pretty amazing and I soon found myself not caring about the TN shortcomings.

Running around maps gunning people down with easier target spotting, allot smoother game play and quicker reaction times. It put a grin on my face. Where before I might get myself trapped in a corner by two or three people and die, now I'm able to kill my way out of it and run on to the next group of enemy. As a gaming monitor I have to say its superb, I'm really liking it. The Hazro has been relegated to the status of second screen, for the occasional movie and image work.

So I think if you want a gaming monitor its well worth the money, I can't wait for the end of the day so I get home to try some more games on it :P But beware there are a few compromises, its not the all-rounder that a good IPS panel is. For me it doesn't matter, my home PC is a gaming machine and I'm well pleased with my purchase.

I hope this helps a bit, nothing really new from the proper reviews splattered across the internet. But maybe useful helping you to decide whether to get one or not.

I have considered this in the past, but still in love with my Hazro too much to consider it. Dual Monitors are out of the question due to space considerations, and I remain unconvinced that the higher Refresh Rate will make that much of a difference to my gaming performance. Happy to be proven wrong, but still....
