Confession time.
This is a subject I know nothing about, I am more a vodka drinker myself.

I am after some pale ales that are a bit unusual. I know the big supermarkets do some but I am after something a little bit more artisan. So any decent places on line.

Now I am sure they probably have different tastes and unfortunately I do not know what his particular tastes are, so maybe if there is somewhere that does a broad selection I can pick a couple of different flavours and then it will be like his own little variety pack.

Thanks in advance.

Sainburys have a few decent ones.

Meantime - London Pale Ale
Punk IPA - Modern Classic Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada - Pale Ale
Landlord - Pale Ale

All very good.

I think he has tried a number of the ones in the supermarkets so was thinking a little more niche for him possibly from a small micro brewery or somewhere like that.

But will have a wander through the current suggestions and see if there is anything that looks appealing.

There's the Real Ale Store in Newark - lists a 20+ pale ales. I'd certainly try the Thornbridge ones, whilst I've not tried them I have had some of their other brews (eg Jaipur) and always enjoyed them.

To be fair, places like Tesco (at least my local one) are now getting very good at giving a wide selection of Ales and more than worth checking out before you start getting carried away spending a fortune on unusual ales.

Yeah, if you can get Purity Breweries UBU from a local supermarket (I've seen it in some Tesco's and Sainsburies's's's) then thats a really nice one.

I'm fairly sure Tesco do UBU. I'm a huge fan of the Elbow ale they released. Much better than their musical offerings.
