I received a Gigabyte Z77-D3H motherboard today from Overclockers and I was surprised to find it was a REV 1.0 board. I plan on using the board with a IB 3570K but but I have read that people are having major issues with the REV 1.0 board and 3570K. Should I even bother to install this or should I return it?

Use it.

What about all the people who don't have issues with it?

The only major issue has been certain ATI GFX cards (namely the 7850) not working without a BIOS update. Sure there has been a couple of users with different issues as well, but so has other boards.

Hi,

I'm planning on buying a 7850. Has the issue been fixed with a motherboard bios update or a video card bios update? if it's a motherboard bios that fixes the issue which bios version do I need to install?

People have reported that they get a blank screen with the 7850, so after removing the card, plugging the monitor into the board directly and then flashing the boards BIOS via Qflash it has solved their problem.

Doesn't change the fact there are people with issues though, which the OP is aware of.

Oh for the OP....I shall just leave this here :

and although I never readdressed the post above, i took it up with CS, had it tested, they found no issue with it, although I have 6 videos showing me trying different slots and different outputs, everything but the x16 pcie slot works, but hey...its ok I am told
Bottom line, I still have it.....it still is not working.....I run it in the slower pcie lane to get it to work

Oh and on a side .... CS then left me high and dry :rolleyes:

I got the rev 1.0 with a 7850,no problems, have a bios freeze issue which im living with but that is an overclock issue and maybe just a quirk of the board, had it for 6 months and happy with it now i ve got used to it

Freezing in the BIOS? that's usually a tiny lack of Vcore to make it perfectly stable.

Just bought one of these brand new myself, arrived on Thursday of last week, it too was Rev 1.0 - had no issues with it though but then again I'm using a 7970
