How much per year does your car cost you ?

£nil

E60 530i

I get a car allowance and a fuel card that's nil cost to me.

Sorry it's true, I could make money by running something small and crap like everyone else but I'd need a lobotomy first

Last 12 months of ownership and not including depreciation:

Octavia vRS = £4091.43 (26.4 pence per mile)
Grande Punto = £3095.73 (22.7 pence per mile)

Fuel has gone up since I got rid of the Octavia in July 2012 but it gives an indication at least.

Edit - inc. depreciation

Octavia vRS = £5161.43 (33.3 pence per mile)
Grande Punto = £3595.73 (26.4 pence per mile)

Cost per mile of the Punto is dropping month by month now that I'm using it for work (65 miles a day rather than 6) but the total figure is obviously rising :(

Starting to remember why we dropped to one car in the first place :(

2002 Mk5 Fiesta Zetec-S

Car cost £495 so haven't lost money on depreciation. :D
Insurance = £1045
Fuel = £1040
Tax = £195
MoT = £35
Maintenance = £85

Horrible car but has never gone wrong.

A little under £11k per year (including the purchase cost of the car).

1300 gallons of 99 ron is expensive :( I really need to get something more economical for commuting :p

Fiesta ST :

Citroen DS3 eHDi 1.6, just shy of £19,000 Brand new (Lease car)
Tax - Nil - It's Tax exempt
Insurance - Part of my lease cost
Petrol - About £130 per month (That's doing about 950mi a month)
Maintenance Costs - Again Nil as part of my lease package
all cleaning stuff like sponges,wax polish, car shampoo, polishing cloths,etc - About £10 a month when I take it to the local poles :D

I pay £260 a month pre tax out of my wages.

Civic ctdi 2007

I'm sure I've worked mine out to be around £ 6.5k per annum in the past. That includes paying off a portion of the car but not depreciation (though obviously its paid off significantly quicker than it depreciates.)

I don't spend a fortune on cleaning kit, maybe 150 a year on top

Bet no one includes depreciation

Even if they've not they've done better than you, who has included absolutely nothing :p I can see the point you are making but as the car allowance is extra salary not your employer directly paying your car bills its a flawed point.

OK I will play.

2012 Nissan GTR
Deprecation: lost about £4-5k if you go by MSRP
TAX: included in first year on the road (£475 later this year).

Maintenance Costs: 3 years servicing including parts and fluid in the price.
Extras: £5.5k on Mods (so far ;))

Loving it :D
