So after being recently refurbished, the bus stops in my area had their glass windows smashed in within a couple days of being finished. What is the point of wasting on money such as that? Before being refurbished it was mainly plastic and those were still in for 10 years. Now it's a hazard for anyone who walks their dog through that area.

Broken glass can walk now?

It is pitiful how quickly stuff like that gets vandalised :( they removed all the bus shelters in my area and just replaced them with a simple pole with a board because of it so now anyone waiting for a bus has no shelter from the weather, etc.

Scummers will be scummy.

They break things to make their pathetic lives more bearable, hopefully one day when smashing a bus stop a bit will fly out, slit their throat and they will die. One less doctors for society to bother with.

Sounds like something from the 'final destination' films :D

True though, not sure why they have break things.

I'm surprised they're still made out of glass. The council really ought to have known better!

That being said, I hate the vandals that feel the need to, well, be themselves.

And this is why we cannot have nice things. - I was amazed that over in Australia they provided BBQs for the public with gas or electric. If they were over here, they would be destroyed (not that we would really have them due to the weather, but still.) A shame really, but this just how the country is.

I've no idea why they use glass and don't just use polycarbonate or something.

They do in my area and have for a while. Stops them getting smashed, instead they get scratched with graffiti. I guess it's the least bad of two undesirable situations

normal week in Cov, they replace the glass, then fri/sat night, smashed again

maybe the should look at investing in better glass, instead of keep replacing it

because the little gits up this way were melting the plastic/Perspex and getting high off the fumes

unfortunately the council has a duty of care to not let the scummy little gits kill themselves unfortunately.

recently witnessed an absolute pair of wallopers taking turns trying to headbutt their way through the toughened glass.

Darwinism at its finest
