We're planning on having a 26" TV in bedroom, but it will be mounted flush into the surface of our beroom units.

My concern about this is most TVs of this size have rear facing speakers I believe, and as such I suspect it will sound terrible as the TV will be fitted snuggly/flush into the unit.

Our existing 21" Sony tv has forward mounted speakers at the front, and sounds brilliant - I'm wondering if someone can recommend a 26" (ish) TV with a good picture and front facing speakers?

Ta!

edit: If there's a subtle soundbar that could be used with the TV that would work absolutely seemlessly (eg: no extra controls/buttons/off/on), then that could be integrated into the units too!?

I think most of the (quality) 22/24/26" TVs nowadays have downward facing speakers which are OK for when wall mounted; my 2 year old 24" Sony does. Be suprised if you would find any forward facing (that were not tiny and tinny) on a small TV. Suggest a walk round an large electrical store.

Downward facing? My Panasonic GT30 plasma has what I would describe as downward facing, with the sound coming out of the very very bottom of the bezel, but facing forwards a bit!? Is that what you mean?

Or do you mean facing down from the rear of the set in effect?

This. I think most TVs are like this now as they have to account for wall mounting.

Well, I suspect that will be OK. So imaging the TV is fitted into a cupboard for it's flat with the wood around it. As long as the speakers are pushing the sound out towards the front, and not from behind, that should get away with it I'd hope.

I'll go and look at some.
