Here is what I have so far:

Intel Core i3 3220

1TB Western Digital Caviar Green

8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance

MSI B75MA-P45

500W Corsair CXM Builder series Modular

NZXT Source 210 Elite

I think this is staying within £500 but I still need a GPU.

Does anyone have any recommendations to this build including a GPU, whilst staying within £500?

The only preferences I have with the GPU are that it has 2GB memory and is able to Xfire/SLI at a later date when I will be upgrading.

Anyone able to help?

The 3220 is a great chip.

Id personally go for a Z77 board if you can. Gives an upgrade path for an over locked i5/i7 in the future..

Make sure the ram is low profile. Those tall heatsinks are just for show IMO.

As for the GPU, im not sure how much you have left, the 7850 2gb seems perfect. You can pick one up for £130 in clearence lines. Bargain.

I wouldn't want to go lower than a 2GB 7850 on the GPU to be honest.....Remember you can get the rig up and running on the IGP and add the GPU later (B grade bargain maybe).

Z9 case is packed with kit for the price, brilliant starters case. Double the HDD capacity for the same price as the WD Green. If you want to Xfire the GPU you need to spend more on the mobo and PSU.

500W is ample for a single GPU setup. 650W would do for 7850s but 750W means you can run better GPUs for the sake of an extra £10. Nice to see you using a Modular PSU in your starting spec :)

Hope this helps, look forward to seeing what you settle on.

With that Gigabyte Motherboard I have selected, am I able to use crossfire with two 7870s maybe further down the line?

It does support Crossfire (but not SLI)

It does crossfire at 16X/4X, better boards (edit like above) will do both Crossfire+SLI equally at 8X/8X so both cards get an equal share of the bandwidth.
