That claim came from Saddam, and the US backed him on it as they were allies of convenience against Iran at the time. Numerous reports from the likes of Human Rights Watch and the Canadian Parliament since have stated that it's clear Halabja was Saddam's regime attacking his own people.

And the Americans changed their tune in the late 90's when it was more advantageous for them to blame Saddam for the attack, as it was then part of their claim for his WMD's ;)
 
The guy is an idiot who just does things for headlines, he doesnt have a discussion he just shouts over everyone making it up as he goes.

Quite, although there was reasoning for the US to blame Iran over their 'ally' Iraq. The US had essentially installed Saddam's political party.

Some people still argue on the gas composition though, and who was using what where and when..
 
He makes some interesting points about shared sovereignty, but it's a shame nobody corrected some of the factually incorrect statements he made in that interview. The worse one being "the Falklands are a few miles from Argentina's coast". Personally, I don't class 300 as "a few", not that the distance is even relevant in this debate.

His opinion that we are not able to defend them against Argentina's pitiful military also shows quite how much rubbish he comes out with. It's quite disappointing that he's an MP.
 
He's a highly articulate speaker and debater. Sadly his views and beliefs are a long way from the majority.

Oh, and he's funded by us, the tax payer.
