Hate Being So Lonely!

Thank you all, for the advice. I do need to get off my 'fat' (i'm not fat lol) arse and do something about it. It's just soooo hard, i would LOVE a job, i've tried to land myself one, but when i go for an interview i lack confidence (it shows) and i always get that dreaded (sorry, blah blah blah) email.

Cutting all your comforts and promising yourself you'll get a job by the end of the month is probably going to stress you out even more and be counter productive, baby steps are the key.
.

What do you mean baby steps? It's no great feat to get a job and mollycoddling people like this is pointless.

OP needs to have a quiet word with himself.

You're 25. Life as an adult is just starting, so I wouldn't worry too much about feeling like you're a failure because you haven't done x or why by the time you're z.

You need to work out what direction you want your life to go in - straight into a job? Qualifications first? Train on the job? Once you've done that you can start the baby steps process to getting there. Set yourself a realistic target such as getting a local newspaper to job hunt, do your CV or get some prospectuses by the end of the week and go from there :)

Hope you get it sorted mate.

Excellent advice. :)

So true about the age. I used to worry all the time about being "old" and ended up missing being young. :D

Get your CV posted up here, people are very friendly. Also, feel free to embellish ;). The fact you are posting here means you have a computer. Teach yourself the basics of the office suites and general work.

Look up qualifications and grants and what not are available to you. I know you get substantially lower entry requirements and costs to university being over 25.

I just try to make a few goals and then slowly work towards them, in terms of what will make me satisfied. Like a house with a garden and a dog and a girl friend. Very simple goal but not so simple at the same time. Of course when i reach this goal i will still be lonely and unhappy and seek further goals. So in that case i am already in the progress of improving my life and as there is no ultimatum that will climatically bring happiness. I just accept that and enjoy the experience that i have available and try my best to optimize it as much as possible. Some things take more time than others. But it just takes effort.

Perhaps you need more face to face interaction with people, Join a club or something.

I've never lacked confidence myself so i'm finding it difficult to see things from your point of view.

Actually that's not true at all. Jobs cannot just be wished for out of thin air, there is a distinct lack of them.

With lots of people applying for them, some who may be younger, better qualified etc.

To merely tell him to buck his act, is going to get nowhere quick.

Having people, even on forums is incredibly handy to help bolster confidence, awareness, and even to help spur themselves on.

I don't have any advice, but just would like to say good luck mate, I know how tough life can be but you only need one break.

Stop smoking weed and buying hookers. That'll help. Get down from a 36" waist.

Something will come along eventually. I used to be depressed, skint and lonely but I kept on persevering and found a job and it's rather a good job in terms of training and all that, then found a place to live, although looking to move closer to the city.

Only way to get out of the situation is to get yourself out no matter how long it takes.

Quit gambling mate, seriously that's just throwing your money away.

Sounds **** but have you considered some voluntary work for a local charity??

Looks better on the CV, a bit of human contact and gets you out of the house... If you cant hack it then you lost nothing...

Quit smoking and gambling. Reduce drinking. Go for a run each day. Start with 5 mins and build up. You will feel better and more upbeat about life.

Like others have said it's about baby steps.

How about volunteer work so that you have a little purpose a few days a week, meeting new people, giving back to community and something to add to the CV whilst continuing to look for a paid job.

As others have mentioned too, exercise is also a good idea and doesn't have to be expensive. Good chance to meet others through local sports clubs and is good to clear your head as well. I know I feel rubbish if I've not been exercising much. I aim for run three times a week, gym twice and I'm going to start cycling to work again in a week or so.

Chin up mate. :)

That's a first step of mine tbh, just lacking the confidence. I can drive though, which i've been told will help.
