Good Mouse ???

well got my g9x today and have to say i like it mine was only 40 quid which is 10 pounds over budget but it is a mouse i recommend only thing is changing fromm my old mouse does hurt my thumb but thats because this mouse is a different shape than my old mouse, will just need to get used to it

Go to a local purple shirt shop and try some out in the hand, then order from an online store. Little point ordering a mouse that may technically be brilliant but doesn't fit your hand well.

I've just received a G400 in the post to replace a G5 v2, and it's really nice. The soft-touch grip feels just like my old MX1000 (didn't like the G5's grip) and the shape fits my hand (hence why I went for it). Best of all, it doesn't have that stupid braided cable (that breaks easily, and is stiff as hell). I have no idea how it'll fair in the long term (durability), but we'll see.

im buying a SteelSeries sensei raw off my freind for £20, just wondered if its worth it for a used mouse, its in good condition ?

for me i would reccomend the tt esports black 6400dpi mouse very slick and fits your hand well

I've got the G9, although it's tracking is rubbish these days.

I think the G9x has been discontinued.

I really like the G400 and it's tracking seems much better than my G9x.

G5 laser and an Icemat is what I have

I did customise the weight which I like and on the fly DPI changes are useful in games

One piece of advise from me is that If you go for a wired mouse, I would definitely recommend getting one with a braided cable.

I had a Razer Deathadder that had a braided cable but then wanted one with 4 left thumb buttons, got a Steelseries with just the norm plastic cable sleeving and the difference is huge.

Laser mice track more accurately, track on more surfaces, and have a higher DPI rating. Optical mice have a maximum of 800 DPI (correct me if I'm wrong) whereas Laser mice can operate at 6000+ DPI. People will say high DPI ratings are useless which I find they are beyond 3000+ DPI. You can change the DPI settings on the fly depending on your situation e.g. if you're using a sniper rifle and need slower mouse movement.

You should just pick a mouse that you think is most suitable for you.

This is completely wrong lol. Most "pro" gamers use optical mice like the microsoft intellimouse, mx518, g400 and deathadder. Also my deathadder is optical and can do 6400 dpi so I don't know where you got your information from.

So because "pro" gamers use optical mice then that means they are automatically better? I wasn't saying either of them were better. If you want to go down that route I could say most "pro" gamers use laser mice like the G500, Naga, G9X, Sensei etc. But of course that isn't true.

The information was from a few webpages I found when I was researching laser and optical mouses a week back before buying a G500. I guess they were wrong or at the time they were written 800 was the max DPI out there.

Yeah it isn't true as most pro's do actually use optical I wasn't just making it up.

They must have been some pretty bad/old articles as optical mice above 800dpi have been around for years.

the steelseries sensei raw, has got a braided cable, i didnt expect one for the price of £40 but it did

im not a pro gamer but i prefer laser mouses, they just seem to more precise
