140mm Fan?

They don't look that great for rads, blades seem a bit thin. And the pressure head seems a tad low too.
I use Corsair SP120s on my 360 and they're great, just annoying that they do an AF140 but no SP140.

You won't get anywhere near the static from 140mm fans as you do 120mm without having them crazily fast. Anything rated over 2mm (take with a pinch of salt!) at 140mm I would say is good, while anything over 3mm for 120mm is regarded as good.

You could get some reducer plates and just shove a some more SP120's on?

Agree with the above

You'd be better off using 120mm Scythe GT's with the bitspower 140>120 convertors (I have some).

Wasted my money by buying 140mm Bitfenix Pro's (probably the best static pressure 140mm fan around). Going back to my 120mm Scythe's - they performed better and quieter too!!

Noctua NF-F12 are not bad..except from looking it ofc :p

You want a high static pressure so the apache probably has decent CFM to be a good case fan but not the static pressure necessary for a radiator

Coolermaster SickleFlow 120 Blue LED apparently has an air pressure similar to the Corsair SP120 high perf edition

Static pressure isnt everything everyone gets all worked up about getting hi sp fans but on 140mm rads they arnt needed, Hi sp fans are needed for smaller hi fpi rads 140mm rads have lower fpi as the fins are spread over a larger area, lower fpi less force needed to power through the rads. Stick with what youve got or go for those nzxts if you think your having issues going down to 120mm fans defeats the purpose of have 140 rads.

I would ask how many of you run 80mm or less rads? No why not as 80mm fans offer much greater sp that any of the 120s

That doesn't really make sense. The rad is bigger but the FPI is the same so pressure requirements are equal. I agree that you need to strike a balance between airflow and pressure but you still need enough pressure to allow for the airflow rather than just creating turbulent air at/in the radiator that prevents the rad performing to it's potential.

I run a 280mm koolance rad and have experimented with the following fans:
120mm scythe gts
120mm akasa apaches
140mm akasa apaches
140mm bitfenix pros

The 120mm scythe gts performed the best in push configuration, then the 120mm apaches.
Both 140mm fans judt spread the air around the rad whereas the 120s actually push air through
