Hi,
my s2 wanted to upgrade to JB this morning, so i let it do so to 4.1.2.
After the upgrade is started to customise my screens again, then i got the error "Unfortunately TouchWiz Home has stopped"

It's caught in a loop though, i can't do anything with this ******* phone.
It tells me TouchWiz Home has stopped working, so i click OK, then it goes back to desktop then i assume it tries to reload TouchWiz, only to crash again.

Help, please!

I rooted the phone about a month ago to install cerberus, but don't know what to do now.

There are plenty of others posting on the internet saying that wiping has not helped. I'm willing to wipe it if i can only get the phone to respond, without constantly crashing.

Thanks for any help offered.

edit: the phone will run if i set Home Screen Mode to "Easy", but i don't want that!!!

This sounds good.....but i've no idea what you're talking about

Could you explain please?

if youre rooted you should have CWM installed so boot into it and do this

but then again it should have done that at the start up after upgrade so i don't think this will help.. but give it a shot lol.

Ok......i'll retract slightly and say i "think i rooted my phone". I tried doing it so i could install cerberus for GPS tracking.
Not actually sure if it ever did it fully.
Don't really know anything about rooting etc.

Ok, so i followed the vid, no option for Davlic cache, but there was one for wiping/deleting cache partition, which i did.
Rebooted.......still got the problem.
I've managed to backup my important stuff, so i think i'll boot into recovery mode again and factory wipe the bleeder!

or you could just install a different launcher ? it will be faster and you can set it up the way you want it? :)

There's clearly something wrong with the install though, so it makes no sense trying to just dodge the issue because chances are something else is (or will go) wrong.

what im trying to say is that TW might be corrupted from the update and that is the only app that force forces, ofc there can be something else that is already broken or will fc soon but hey the more people i can get away from TW the better :d

Yep as I say I have had the problem before. When I moved back to stock when ICS was released. That is how I fixed it.

But yes custom ROM would be better :p

Ok, reset done, so far everything works as it should.
I hate the friggin phone anyway, so i'm not too fussed about using a custom rom, just want it to work.

Touchwiz isn't an app, it's an entire framework. The Touchwiz launcher is an app but it won't have been 'corrupted' in itself by the update, there is an underlying issue somewhere.
