Corsair 900D going to be 5cm to Big.

I have my heart set on this case , i just got measurements for the case and the depth is 649.5mm and the depth of my long and great looking desk is only 600mm .

how am i going to have this beast showing in all its glory if i can not have it on my desk ?

IF i cant have it on the desk i just wont buy it as why have all the expensive mobo, watercooling kits and sli 680s waterblocked if me or my friends cant see it .

will it look OK with over hang ? i mean it will be all at the front too as i got to give things like usb and power lead and hdmi room, but that can be done by just pulling the desk out ..

my desk it a long about 170cm long with another desk on the side , like an L shaped desk .i have the L shape on my right .

There's some margin at the back of the desk I presume. Then it all depends on the actual footprint of the case, and if it can be manoeuvred to optimise its stability and minimise overhang.

EDIT : Actually no, it wont fit at all.

Could you not put it sideways? Or have it on the 'side' bit of the L shaped desk, the bit that is next to your bed.

EDIT: I know your pain though, had my heart set on an Antec P280, but it's 12cm taller than my current P180. The shelf above my desk will be in the way

IF i could it would look awful , i say if i could because i cant as on that corner i have a 32in Tv on the wall with a swing out bracket lol

Tv and some gaming in bed lol

I was thinking of modifying the desk at the end where the draws are so that a piece of wood on top and then mold it into shape somehow so it wouldn't look like i have a over hang but instead looks part of the desk .

or attach a lip at the back of the whole desk , the cover the lip with more wood so its lever with the desk then use some mats to cover the add on ???

ideas welcome .

the footprint is what bothered me yes and got me thinking that it would not fit and will just fall off because of the cases feet .

in red , is where i would make a lip underneath then add more wood to the lip and make it level then buy some extra large gaming matts to cover the desk .

You can work around the issues of course. Point is, I think you'll need well over 700mm to make it viable, with some more room for the cables at the back and a bit at the front (you don't want right on the edge). So ideally, 800mm, to one meter.

You can also probably set the case in the corner at an angle where you have more room, or along the wall. Cables aren't gonna be pretty, maybe hide them behind the screen or something. If all else fails, on the floor or new desk.

I think i have solved my own problem .

It means taking all the tops off the desk and switching it round ,so the L shape is under the first window in bedroom . Like this

Im so excited now that i can still have the 900D case and for all to see .

I think the Room looks better for it and now can put my free weights along main wall opposite the bed too.

I have a double window and the blind is usually drawn anyway.

Not going to rush as i got time on my hands and time to save .

My window also opens 2 ways opens as slat or normal opening , i will only be able to slat open it as case will block it to swing out as its inside opening window .
