It sounds like running a car is something that perhaps isn't a good idea.

Per month it probably is and that's all these sorts of people think about.

Nevermind the fact the repair would have been one big lump and the odd few months down the line vs every month for probably 5 years.

58,000 miles is too many for a 20 year old car.

We're talking about a £400 toyota here, back from the days when they were very basic and extremely reliable.

I'd say it's genuine. Interior looks good. If I needed 'a car' for 'as cheap as possible' i'd have it.

I've never even heard of this Drivepay finance.

It's a £500 car, as long as the condition is reasonable it doesn't really matter.

My only worry with a car like that is when it did need work doing parts could be expensive and in some situations elusive. Mondeos, Vectras etc. are good because the parts are cheap and a good back street mechanic will have plenty of experience with them.

We turn away sub prime finance deals but can't stop customers arranging their own finance, I had a customer buy a 5 year old French hatchback on a finance deal which involves putting a pin in every month!

I never saw the finance docs, but would assume the interest rate is very high!
