Not sure if I've been living under a rock but I noticed this two or three weeks ago..

Searching companies House says maximuscle is in liquidation but I still get e,mails.

Anyone got any information?

I wouldn't be surprised. Anyone with an ounce of training knowledge disregards them for supplements.

Their pricing is ridiculous. Particularly on cyclone. I've never touched their stuff other than one order on maxi raw which was quite reasonable.

I would have thought it would have been announced if true.

If it says so on Companies House, then that's pretty much all there is to it.

Their registered office is 55 Baker Street, which is the main London office of BDO, the accountants. So either they were running a registered office out of there, or BDO are now the liquidators.

Yep, a bit more digging around at Companies House says that BDO are their liquidators.

Oh so this must be ancient news cos a Google says gsk bought them up in 2010. Guess the thing I found is irrelevant now.

The amount of people that buy and use Cyclone at college is silly. I was talking to the owner of the local supp store and he says Maximuscle is still his best selling stuff.

Think Glaxo has had them for over a year now? my mate who works at Mclaren gets a ton of the carb bars for free to keep them going on long hours, they taste pretty good but if you were to buy them they would probably be £19.95 each. Rip off company

Used them when i first started this bodybuilding thing when i was 16, no knowledge etc, then two years ago i found MyProtein and stuck with them since.

i overheard someone who used to compete, they are in their 40's or 50's now. and someone was asking them for advice and they were telling the noob to go out and buy maximuscle, they also said their good mate uses myprotein but they cannot be trusted because it's so cheap. their exact words were "maximuscle are like the rolls royce of protein". they were really getting into how all the olympic athletes use maximuscle and all the top boxers, etc.

it's amazing what marketing and celebrity endorsement does to the masses of sheep out there. maximuscle's PR department is in full force right now.

it's also amazing the number of noobs who go up to people who are clearly on steroids and ask them for advice. one of the juicers even had the audacity to say "listen pal, if you want me to give you advice you better get your cheque book out". probably to pay for his next bicycle.

Maximuscle, as part of GSK, are still doing very very well.

Despite what reputation they have in the bodybuilding community they are regarded as thee leading UK sports supplementation company. The difference being sports supplementation as opposed to bodybuilding supplementation.

Their products are very good. Just rediculously priced

To be fair I don't think anyone has ever said Maximuscle are "bad" as such just hideously overpriced for what you get and very good at selling you the earth while charging a price to match.
