New 3D Gaming PC - £2k ish

This would be my idea..

I wouldn't be happy with spending £2K and only getting an i5..

Considering £1K is going on the panel and GPUs, there is nothing wrong with using the i5K. The mobo I used also inc wifi and bluetooth along with other goodies. The Shinobi XL isnt great for aircoolers, it's more a watercooling case.

If I was spending £2K on a rig I'd want the i7 3930K and have quad channel RAM. Each to their own though. I have a 3DTV which I do game on from time to time. Honestly for what it's costing him it might be better just to get a much higher resolution than 3D.

Ideally I'd want the UP4 mobo. You are supposed to get a mega bundle of games if you opt for Xfiring 7950s from the get go.....worth looking into to see if OCuk do the deal. I look forward to seeing what he settles on :)

i like that a lot, especially the SUPER widescreen.

The 7950 are great value..

Im with you on this one hono. If he's nit worried about 3D this is an amazing rig. :)

me neither tbh, it's about time the i5 got laid to rest for most build and went for mid range only, more and more games now will use the extra bits the i7 offer.
