Just got a second monitor and wondering if theres any games that work well on two monitors?

Obviously fps games don't because theres a sodding barrier in the middle of the screen but i was wondering what games if any would play well?

Thanks, didn't know if this belonged in the monitor or pc games section...

Supreme Commander: Forged alliance works, it essentially works as a second view of the map, so you can have one monitor with you just doing your usual work as you build your base up, and have the second monitor zoomed out to see the whole map, so you can tell if someone launches an attack, or you could zoom it into the opponents base to keep a closer eye on them. Pretty sure you can even split the monitor in half/quarters and have separate viewports in each segment.

The upcoming Age of Empires 2 HD mentioned multi-monitor support as well, though I'm not too sure how useful it would be.

I was just thinking how much more helpful it would be to move the map to a second monitor full size rather than putting up with a potentially massive bezel in the middle of the screen. The likes of BF3 in particular are perfectly fine with single monitors but could really do from better map work.

You can always just take a saw to the bezel on the edge you want to put together - there's nothing remotely useful electronically in there so you can always just thin out the bezel yourself and treat it more or less as a single 3840*1080 display

World in Conflict was another RTS game that let you have the map on another monitor.

DCS games let you put instruments on other screens as well.

I think shogun 2 works rather well, as I assume do empire and napoleon.

I also found Arma 2 reasonably good, it doesnt demand much of your reactions so having the middle of your view cut off isn't much of a drawback.

Haven't been able to use the secondary adapter option in supreme commander, the option to enable isnt there. But I think that would be amazing.

If you're into MMO's, WoW can be customised to an amazing degree - a friend of mine used to play with the main world view and very minimal info (health/mana) on one screen, and another with all her raid frames, alerts, timers, chat logs, Teamspeak notifications etc.

Of course, the same girl used to also play with a laptop open next to her for general web browsing, playing music, looking up strategies etc, which is maybe going further than I'd suggest!

This is the only one I could think of, imo it works really well.
