Thanks for all the info and tips guys on where and where not to go. Had a great weekend and this is what happened....
*Field Report*
Picked the girl up from her house and drove to Notts for about 2pm. Parked up in Talbot St car park and headed into town for some shopping. Did the usual John Lewis and Primark trawl to keep the lady happy . Had a good old browse at the different and exotic meats one of the stalls in the square was selling... Crocodile, kanagroo and horse!! Personally I am sure the horse is cheaper at Tesco. Had a leisurely stroll to the Pitcher & Piano for a pint, and wow this place is beautiful inside. We spent 2 hours with one drink chatting and admiriing the building. It was about 6.30pm by the time we finished so we headed in the direction of the car park and find somewhere to eat on the way, which took us to the Harvester which I think was on Trinity Sq. By the time we had finished and drove back to the hotel it was about 8.30pm. After wating for what seemed like forever waiting for the other half to get ready we ended up getting a taxi from the hotel back to the Pitcher at about 11pm. Another drink later in there we went for another stroll and ended up in Revs which I think was the old one near Oceana. There was a funny asian guy in there playing the game pretending to be Mystery or Neil Strauss chatting to every woman that went by, and he had his 3 other crew members with him watching like they were learning. He then came over to me and the girl and just proceeded to just stand there and stare like he was trying to think of something witty to say so he could try and win her away from me... He hovered round for about 5 mins then we left and all he could say was "Nice ****". So I turned around and said thanks and winked back. We then walked to Oceana and spent the rest of the night going from room to room drinking and dancing!! We finished up about 3.30am and headed back to the hotel. The rest I will leave for your imagination as this is a family forum
Whatever you do, don't go to Revivals (the one with the revolving dance floor), unless of course you like hanging around dodgy old men eyeing your girl up.
I can't fault the recommendations from BinnsY, its pretty much what I'd have recommended. Its good to see our favourite student haunts are still great places to go.
I'd end the night in Dogma, it's a stunning venue and the live music downstairs can be epic at times. Wed/Thurs night dance band used to be pur favourite!
Avoid tantra and some of he places in the centre if town as said already and you should be fine. Wouldn't both with revs in the corner house, its alright but there ate better places as already mentioned.
I miss notts, especially BZR with their tripples for singles. It did help having the varman as a mate when busy
