i own an o/c 3570k running at 4.2ghz,but my gpu only seems to be running at around 60% in gpuz,i even put it my 7850 to stock speeds, any thing i can do? playing max payne 3 was the first time i noticed this

not sure, didnt check, but set to turbo in tune up utilities, and was running at 4.2 when the game started, cant check at the moment as im just about to go to work

Play something other than max payne? BF3 should hammer the gpu usage. My 580 3570k gets 70% and 90% on cpu and gpu.

Turn the settings up you may just be over specced for that game also? Try putting on lots of AA!

runniing a 1gb card everything maxed out

Are you running any form of vsync or frame limitter ?
am running v sync(along with that virtu thingy)

will try another game ,however, i am getting solid 60fps and things run smooth as silk.

yesi know what v sync does, but whats that got to do with the low load on my card?or has it got something to do with only having 1gb of memory

As you are running v-sync, your card has less work to do. Therefore your gpu usage is lower. Disable v-sync, try a game and you will see higher gpu usage.

I ran v-sync on my old 470 sli setup, as theese were pretty hot running cards this kept the workload down, therefore keeping temps lower. The trade off though with v-sync disabled is screen tearing. Can be a bit distracting.

ok,like i said before, everything runs smooth at the moment, but i will revisit my settings, also think i will revisit a couple of other games, you never know it might be just the game

Erm.......

If it's limiting how many frames it's going to run, why would the load be higher?

It only needs to be as high as it needs to reach 60.

So the GPU only needs to load up X percent to reach the 60 FPS goal, in another game it'll be Y percent, etc.

oh i think i get it,will check this out with far cry 3 ,as i was getting 60fps but would drop now and then to about 50fps,ive read this game was quite stressfull
